ANNOUNCE YOUR VICTORY TO CONQUER (B)

Amos 3:4

Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

A lion does not make a noise while chasing a prey. However, once it has captured the prey, it roars. It roars to announce his catch.

In the spirit realm also, you roar to show that you have captured something.

A man who boldly declares victory does so, because he has apprehended a revelation from God.

Before you announce your victory, you must do the work. Investigate and seek out the solution. Once you lay hold of the revelation and set it in your heart, then you can roar; you can declare the end of poverty, failure, barrenness, death… in your world.

Now, to roar when you have not laid hold of something is a dangerous enterprise.

Whenever you roar, your adversaries will investigate to know what you have; to discover the source of your bold declarations. If they weigh you and find you wanting, you will be sorry.

Therefore, it is very important that you only announce your victory after you have caught the prey.

When you get it, you will be known, and you will be feared.

I Sam 4:5-9

And when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.

The camp is your life. It is your business. It is your marriage.

The ark is the presence of God. You want His presence in your camp, always.

And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews?

The Philistines investigated to understand the reason for the shout of the Hebrews.

Brethren, your enemies will investigate to know why you shout; to know the confidence behind your profession of faith.

Therefore, real men only shout when they have got it.

And they understood that the ark of the LORD was come into the camp. And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! For there hath not been such a thing heretofore. Woe unto us! Who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? These are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.

They did not just investigate the mystery behind the shout, they also sought to understand the potency of the power behind the shout.

Their investigation made them understand that ark of God represented the presence of God. They also understood the implication of having the presence of God because His terrible deeds in Egypt were known to them.

Once your enemies see that what you have is the real thing- true power, they will also cry Woe unto us!

Be strong, and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.

Despite what they discovered, they were still ready to fight. They had enjoyed years of dominion over Israel because they had power. Now, that they perceived greater power in the camp of their former servants, their desperation to not become servants to Israel motivated them. So, they encouraged themselves to fight.

The enemies’ dread of the power you carry will not stop them from fighting you.

Therefore, it is important that, no matter how full of divine power you are, you remain ever watchful and always prepared.

Understand that there is a fight for dominion, and you must not hesitate to cut down and quench every stubborn opposition.

Acts 27: 9-11; 21-26

Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them, And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

Paul had caught something...

He caught a divine revelation that the ship, the goods and everyone in the ship, including Paul, would perish.

Yet, he chose to present the revelation as a perception to the men on the ship, because he realised that he was lightly esteemed as a mere prisoner.

Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and he owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

However, his words were still despised in favour of the expert opinions of the captain and owner of the ship. They probably considered that all was well, because the ship was in a good state, and they had a rescue contingency plan in place. So, what could go wrong?

Thankfully, Paul knew there was a devil after his life, and he did not leave the matter alone; he went to God in prayer…

But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said…

At this point in the journey, the ship had indeed run into a storm (v 14-15).

After a long period of fasting, Paul stood to speak to the men again.

The man they had once ignored, stood out in their midst, and spoke again.

This time, they could not ignore or despise his words.

…Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

Their decision to despise the words of Paul had gained them harm and loss.

They had been tossed-thrown about- by the violence of the storm, and had been forced to throw the goods into the sea (v 18).

One of the things he had prophesied had come to pass, and the ship was not looking good either. It was to be expected then, that they were all afraid for their lives.

Thankfully, Paul had good news for them.

And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

For there stood by me this night he angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar…

Paul had also been afraid for his own life. He had sought the face of the LORD in prayer and fasting to plead for his life…and his case was heard. He would not die, because he must be brought before Caesar.

By saying he must be brought before Caesar, God was giving Paul the key to preserving his life.

Paul MUST stand before Caesar. However, the Roman emperor was not at sea. Therefore, Paul must survive the sea, get to land, and remain alive the rest of the journey. How then could he die?

Brethren, you cannot die this year. No matter the agitation going on to cut short your days, you shall not die, because there are so many things you must achieve this year.

No one else will do what you have called to do- in your world, and in the kingdom of God. Therefore, you shall live because you MUST be brought to your place.

…and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

And God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you (NIV)

Not only did Paul gain his life, he also gained the lives of everyone on that ship; as long as they listened to, and obeyed him, their lives were guaranteed.

Paul was the only man God had on the ship, and that man prayed. In answer to his prayers, God assured him of his life. More than that though, He also tied the lives of everyone else on that ship to the life of Paul.

As long as they remained with him, they would not die.

Brethren, God is looking for such men of great value, to whom He can tie the lives of others.

Now, if He has tied your life to such a man, you will do well to listen to him, for therein lies the key to preserving your life.

Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer; for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

Certain loss would be incurred, but God’s assurance of preservation would stand.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • Raw fire of God, enter my life.
  • My Father, make me a voice this year.
  • My life, receive the dominion to rule.

  • Any power, seeking to fight me; anyhow you fight, I waste you by fire.
  • Whatever- sickness, accident, implication- the devil has put in place to contend with my life this year; thus saith the LORD. I terminate you by fire.

FOLLOW DIVINE PROTOCOL TO CONQUER (B)

REFERENCES: I CORINTHIANS 10:3-11, NUMBERS 14: 34, II COR 1: 18- 20, ISAIAH 48:3

The man who will conquer must cooperate with God; and for a man to prove that he is indeed cooperating with Him, he must follow divine protocol.

Divine protocol supersedes any worldly protocol.

The man who lives by divine protocol will win, prosper, and succeed by them.

The importance of following divine protocol is made clearer when you understand that, while God can say ‘Yes’ to a request, He can also say ‘No’ to it afterwards.

When you follow divine protocol, God will say ‘Yes’ to you; however, when you violate the protocol, He will say ‘No’.

This is the sad reason why many claim the ‘Yeses’ of God, but do not see the manifestation. They do not understand that the ‘Yes’ of God can only be sustained when a man follows divine protocol. When he violates them, ‘Yes’ will become ‘No’.

God testifies that He had said the house of Eli would stand before Him forever. Yet, He is now saying ‘No’ to the same house, and condemning them to death and irrelevance; except for the man who honours Him by following a faithful priest. This means that His ‘Yes’ would continue over the man who follows the protocol, but become ‘No’ over the one that is too proud to do so.

I Cor 10:3-11

And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of the God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

The Church in the wilderness was going to a land that was already prepared for them by God. They were walking in His ‘Yes’. Yet, many of them were overthrown before they could lay hold of the fulfilment of the promise.

Their sad end is recorded as a sober example for the present Church.

If you will continue to enjoy the ‘Yes’ of God this year, you will do well to follow these divine protocols...

Now these things were our example, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as the also lusted. [Do not chase after what God has not given you this year.]

Neither be ye idolators, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Remember Josiah, the king whose birth was prophesied centuries before he was born. God promised that he would live to a good old age. Yet, this king died in his 40s.

Please be wise. Understand, that, whenever God makes you a promise, there is a devil seeking to stop it from coming to pass.

Num 14: 34

After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

When the people to whom God had promised the land of Canaan murmured against Him, and accused Him being a wicked God, they saw a side of Him they had never seen before.

…ye shall know my breach of promise.

In other words, you shall know how I say ‘Yes’ and then say ‘No’.

Do not assume that receiving His promises gives you the leeway to live contrary to divine principles. You must walk in the understanding that violating divine protocol will cost you the divine promise.

Your breach of His protocol will lead to His breach of promise.

You have a responsibility. Whatever He has promised you must happen in your life. Therefore, follow divine protocol.

God has the capacity to bring all His promises to pass. The ball therefore is in your court.

Play your part well.

Let that thing come to pass.

II Cor 1: 18- 20

As surely as God is trustworthy and faithful and means what He says, our speech and message to you have not been Yes [that might mean] No. For the Son of God, Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who has been preached among you by us, by myself, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not Yes and No; but in Him it is [always the divine] Yes.

For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ].

Brethren, consider this carefully.

The Word of God needed Jesus to come to pass.

In Christ, the many promises of God received divine capacity to come to fulfilment.

They found the right answer- their ‘Yes’- in Him.

You are born again by the Word; the Word that found ‘Yes’ in Christ.

When you therefore, find a promise in the Word, your responsibility is to find yourself in Christ, and declare the promise.

You declare it, for Heaven to say ‘Yes’.

As powerful as the promises of God were, they waited for Christ- for His death and resurrection- and found their ‘Yes’ in Him.

No wonder Christ declares that John the Baptist is the greatest of the prophets, but the least in the Kingdom, for he did not taste the death and resurrection of Christ as we have.

It does not matter how long you have suffered barrenness, failures, sickness, setbacks…simply ensure that you are born again, rooted in Christ.

Then, you can go into the Word, and declare all that is written for you.

As you do so, Heaven will say ‘Yes’ to them all, for in Christ, they receive power for manifestation and fulfilment.

For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God (AMP)

Your confidence is found in this. You are born by the Word, and an heir of the promises of God. You are a covenant carrier of divine promises.

Therefore, as the promises find their heavenly ‘Yes’ in Christ, you also say AMEN- so be it- in agreement with the heavenly witness.

The Word, and the promises therein, have their ‘Yes’ in Christ. Find your way into Him as well, and agree with all the promises, to which God has said ‘Yes’.

Isa 48:3

I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass

Observe divine protocol, and you will enjoy divine promises.

God has the capacity to fulfil all His promises. As long as you remain in Christ, None of His promises will go unfulfilled.

Ensure that you follow divine protocol, and you will enjoy ‘Yes’, over all His promises.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My life, today, you are rededicated to the LORD.
  • Raw fire of God, possess my life.
  • Any power waiting to say ‘No’ to that which God has said ‘Yes’; I terminate you by fire
  • Any power that has been saying ‘No’ to that which God has said ‘Yes’; I terminate you by fire
  • Evil landmark blocking my way; I terminate you by fire
  • Whatever is waiting for me this year, to block my way; I terminate you by fire

COOPERATE WITH HIM TO CONQUER: UNDERSTANDING YOUR CAPTAIN (B)

COOPERATE WITH HIM TO CONQUER:

UNDERSTANDING YOUR CAPTAIN (B)

REFERENCES: NUMBERS 14:4-5, GENESIS 14:14-15, JUDGES 7: 16-21

In the first part of this teaching, we learnt that the journey to the place requires that you understand your captain.

As we continue with the teaching, you also need to understand that even the journey back to captivity demands a captain.

So, just as God needs a captain to lead people to the Place, the devil also needs a captain to lead people into error, and back into captivity.

This proves that everyone needs a captain, whether as a leader or as the led. A Christian therefore needs to be led by a captain, whose Captain is Christ.

Num 14: 4-5

And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

Moses was a captain of God, to lead His people out of captivity.

When the people missed it, they also sought to make a captain for themselves, to lead them back.

They did not understand…

You do not make a captain; you discover your captain.

The people did not make Moses; God did.

God made him in the wilderness and presented him to the people in due time. Then, they discovered Moses.

However, when they missed it, they sought to make a captain for themselves.

That person could have only led them one way- back to captivity.

Only a man, made by God, can make another man.

Only a captain, made by God, can lead you to your true place.

Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

The enormity of their foolishness caused Moses and Aaron to fall on their faces. They understood that the people’s decision to make a captain for themselves was a deadly one. Such a captain could never take them forward; only backward.

Gen 14:14-15

And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.

God called Abraham, like He called Moses and David, making them into captains over His people.

As you claim the blessings of Abraham, you will do well to know that he was a warrior, and a captain.

He had enough weapons in his armoury to arm 318 men, and the military clout to defeat the world power of that time.

And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

As a captain, he poured himself into the 318 men in his household.

This is the dream of every God-made captain; to have men into whom he can divide himself.

It would not matter the extent of the evil that is present in that man’s foundation and history; only that he gives himself to the training….

Jesus was born in a stable, surrounded by animals; yet the spirit of animals did not follow him, nor did it define His journey to the place.

Abraham was called out of his father’s land with nothing. Yet, the God that called him alone, blessed and increased him.

If you make yourself available to God, He will give you a befitting captain; one who has been where you are, and has overcome. He will pour himself in you, bring you out of that mess, and make you a candidate of divine blessing and increase.

II Chr 13:12

And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain…

Every captain needs a Captain.

Without the direction of the Captain, you will walk by speculations, and presumptions.

A true captain will admit that he knows nothing by himself; that the source of all he knows is the Captain- the Teacher like no other, the Coach, the Man of war, the Owner of the whole earth, and the fulness thereof…

Wise ones know that He is always correct. Therefore, they answer in the affirmative to all His commands, always.

…and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

When God is the Captain of a pastor, his words become a trumpet, sounding an alarm against the camp of the enemy.

Therefore, whenever God stirs you up to pray against the wicked, it is so that your prayers will become an alarm against them; and when the alarm sounds, your enemies know that their defeat is inevitable.

Jdgs 7: 16-21

And he divided the three hundred men into three companies…

No man can give what he does not have…

The man made by God for you, is furnished with everything you need for the journey.

Abraham had been given the weapons needed by the 318 men.

Likewise, the 300 trumpets, 300 pitchers, and 300 lamps needed by Gideon’s men had already been given to him.

…and he put a trumpet in every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.

Where did he get the equipment, and how did he carry them all?

This is the unreasonable mystery of a captain. He is filled to fill others…

To each man, the captain gave a trumpet, a lamp and a pitcher to protect the light of their lamps- the Word.

And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do.

When I blow a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.

This is the language of a true captain: ‘do as I do’.

As I pray, as I study, as I live, as I speak; do likewise.

If you are with me, you must be ready to do what I do…

God gives the captain the trumpets, and causes them to be multiplied, so that, you too may blow your trumpets as he does; in your homes, offices, businesses, marriages, ministries…

And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.

So, Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands…

And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.

While each man held his position around the camp, all the Midianites ran, crying out as they fled (NIV)

There is a place for you; a place of power, of greatness, of increase. This year, you shall stand in your place.

Captain Gideon gave his men trumpets and lamps in pitchers, causing them to get to their places; and to hold their positions against the wicked…

…and, as they held their positions, ALL the enemies fled.

They ran, they cried, and they fled before the people of the LORD.

This year, all your enemies will flee from before your face.

Your responsibility is to follow the captain.

Receive the trumpet, the lamp and pitcher from him, and obey every command.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • Raw fire of God, cover me.
  • Father, by Your power, take me to my place.
  • Power of God, take me to my position this year.
  • My life, receive the power to go to the top, where you belong.
  • Evil strangers on my way; I drive you out of my place by fire.

COOPERATE WITH HIM TO CONQUER: THE ANOINTING FOR THE JOURNEY

THE ANOINTING FOR THE JOURNEY

REFERENCES: PSALMS 105:13-15, Ps 28:8, Isa 54: 15, Isa 31: 5

So far, we have learnt about the need to be properly dressed for the journey to the place. Only the man who is properly dressed- spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically- can address every situation well.

We also learnt that anointing only comes to the man who is properly dressed. When God sent Samuel to anoint a king in the house of Jesse, the men had to be well dressed.

God desires to give you the total blessings. However, that cannot happen when all you do is patch on a piece of new garment to your old garment.

The complete blessings will only come upon you when you put off the old garment- mindset, habits, nature, lifestyle- and put on the new. That way, you become a full carrier of the presence of God.

Ps 105:13-15

When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings: “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm” (NIV)

As you journey through this year; from home to work, from one place to another, do so with the consciousness that God has not given anyone permission to oppress, wrong or harm you.

Whatever you encounter this year, be bold to declare that you have a divine guarantee to see the end of the year, and the new one as well. Furthermore, no agenda of death, disgrace, humiliation, loss is permitted to prosper over you this year.

No one is permitted to do you wrong. Even kings of darkness have been put on notice; they do not get to touch you or harm you.

When Israel passed through the Red Sea, they were baptised unto the same anointing upon Moses. Why then will I be anointed, and you would not be as well?

It is time to walk in the reality of the same anointing upon my life.

The man who dresses well will walk in the anointing, and he will be known.

Brethren, this year, they must know you; they must hear you; and they must bow to you. No more shall you be hidden because you a candle meant to stand on a hill.

Christ could not hide His true identity from the demons in the synagogue. The Pharisees did not know Him, but the devils did, and they declared His Sonship.

Ps 28:8

The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed

This year, the LORD is your strength- in marriage, ministry, finance, business, career.

He is also your saving strength.

It does not matter who has arrested His anointed.

When the enemy thinks he has arrested or captured you, you will escape because the Almighty will come in His strength, and save you.

Isa 54: 15

Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

The One who knows the end from the beginning is charging you to consider this: the wicked shall surely gather against you. But that is not where the story ends.

He also charges you to consider this: that whosoever, from wherever, at whenever, that shall gather against you shall fall, for your sake.

Consider the faithfulness of God.

Whatever happens to you does not change the constant truth that He remains God.

Yet, while wicked powers cannot gather against God, and nothing they do can affect Him, in His love, He has revealed to you a key that will frustrate their gathering against you: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

Isa 31: 5

As birds flying, so will the LORD defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

Like birds hovering overhead, the LORD Almighty will shield Jerusalem; he will shield it and deliver it, he will ‘pass over’ it and will rescue it. (NIV)

In the beginning, the Spirit of God moved over the face of the waters. The same Spirit rested and remained on Christ, announcing the time and season of Christ.

Today, I invoke the hovering power of God over your life, to follow you wherever you go, and attract divine protection, deliverance, preservation, favour and help to you throughout this year.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My Father, I rededicate my life to You this year.
  • Consuming, unquenchable fire of God, sit on me.
  • Father, let Your mighty hand rest on me.
  • I receive the power to retain the oil this year.
  • My Father, be my saving strength this year.
  • My life, I charge you; escape every arrest of the wicked by fire.
  • Any gathering against my life, this year; thus says the LORD. I terminate you by fire.
  • Any power that wants to gather against me this year; I scatter and terminate you by fire.

PERFECTION DEMANDS PREPARATION: THE PURPOSE OF PERFECTION IN CHRIST

PASTOR’S CORNER

PERFECTION DEMANDS PREPARATION:

THE PURPOSE OF PERFECTION IN CHRIST

REFERENCES: TITUS 3:5-8, EPHESIANS 4:13-14, JOHN 1:11- 14

As we bring this teaching to a close for this time, we will be looking into the purpose of perfection in Christ.

Tit 3:5-8

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

The process of our perfection is dependent on the work of the Word and Spirit. We are made new- washed and renewed- by the Word and the Spirit; and it is for a purpose: to make us heirs, inheritors, of eternal life.

We are made heirs of eternal life, not by the works of our own righteousness, but by the Word and Spirit. Without these two, our spiritual journey will end in waste.

Christ was made by the same principle. The angel spoke the word to Mary, and revealed to her that the Spirit of God will come upon her, to bring the word into reality. (Lk 1:34-35)

Eph 4:13-14

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

We must come to the presence of God, to pray in the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God. We move, in this realm, to the place of perfection.

The reason many struggle in the place of prayer is because they have not come to the realm of perfection; and no one can get there without the Word and Spirit.

When a man comes unto a perfect man, he grows into the full height and maturity of Christ- in knowledge, understanding, power, divinity, lordship- he will no longer be tossed about like a child by the wicked.

Maturity- growing into measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ- makes you immune to the deceitfulness of men, the bullying of the wicked, and the hold of false doctrines; and will not be carried about to dumb idols. A man who is made by the Word and the Spirit will not partner with satan against his life and destiny.

Jn 1: 11- 14

He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

When His own rejected Him, Christ came to us, and, to as many as received Him, to as many as are born again, Christ has given the power to become the sons of God.

This means that being a child of God is just the beginning of your growth journey in Christ. You cannot remain at the same point. Through the continual washing and renewing by the Word and the Spirit, you go on to perfection, moving up to the level of a son.

Christ was born a child, but He wielded the power He was given to become a Son. (Rom 1: 3-4). He has called to grow in the same manner, until we reach the full measure of His stature. That also means that you must die to yourself and resurrect unto divine sonship.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory [the glory of the Word]...

When God speaks, men see the glory of that word.

The Word was a carrier of glory- full of grace and truth. Those who looked upon Him could behold His glory.

When a negative judgement comes upon a man, however, what people see is the shame attached to the judgement.

When the devil speaks, the word carries shame, disfavour and disgrace. The man, upon whom the judgement is declared, will experience rejection wherever he goes, and none of those who reject him will know why they did so.

And the Word was made flesh...

God spoke the Word; the Word appeared in the womb of a woman and became a man. However, it was not a man that was given to the woman; it was the Word.

Consider this:

Until God spoke about death, the devil had neither heard of, nor seen him. When he heard God speak of death, he appeared on the scene and deceived Adam and Eve, thereby bringing into reality the judgment God had spoken.

No one had died before this time; so the devil could not have known what death was, or how it worked. Yet, he convinced Eve that eating of the forbidden tree would not lead to death.

When man died, the devil got the key- the secret of death. Whenever he desires to kill someone, he simply makes the person do what God has told him not to do.

He became ‘him that had power of death’. (Heb 2: 24) He does not kill; he simply wields the knowledge of the mystery of death.

Divine revelations will expose you to battle. Your safety is in total obedience to God.

Jesus destroyed him that had the power of death by His (Christ’s) death. The Word that became flesh died so that every judgement (word) of the devil may die.

...(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Whatever the devil says to, or against you, is lie, and is meant to bring shame and disgrace to your life. But, in Christ, every word God speaks to you is the truth, and in it you receive grace to function and reign in life beyond your natural abilities.

Negative words can impersonate anyone to work against you. Remember when Jesus ordered satan to get behind him? Physically, Peter was the one before Him, but He could see that he was being impersonated by the devil.

The abusive spouse, victimising boss, unruly and disrespectful children, hateful colleagues, that offensive stranger on the street; that familiar face that terrorises you in your sleep; none of these are your enemies. They do you wrong because a negative word, spoken against you, has impersonated them.

Sometimes, the evil word will impersonate you against yourself.

If you desire to stop the nightmarish experiences against you, command the word to die. Once the judgement dies, the experience will die.

This is the purpose of perfection.

God has called you to come into the full measure of the stature of Christ; to conform fully to the image of His Son.

This is why you received Christ as a child, and He gave you power to become a son, so that you can operate in the capacity of the Son of God.

It is time to make the Word become a reality in your life. What has God promised you? It is time to see the reality in your life.

God promised death as the consequence of sin, and death came; why then will His promises of life, wisdom, power, blessings, and more not also become reality?

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My Father, take me to the place of perfection.
  • Fire of God, to get to the place of perfection; take over my life.
  • My Father, You promised me Your fire. Therefore, I receive the raw fire of God.
  • My Father, You promised me life, healing, wisdom, favour, abundance, children...by Your power, I command them to manifest in my life.
  • Whatever is said against me, that has impersonated the souls of men against my life; I destroy your power now.
  • Whatever is said against me, that has impersonated my soul, against my life; I destroy your power now.
  • Any negative word that turns to any man, against me; I destroy your power by fire now.

PREPARATION DEMANDS PERSONAL LOVE FOR PERFECTION

REFERENCES: PSALM 49:4-5, ROMANS 15: 19-22, LUKE 6:40, HEBREWS 5:8-9, MATTHEW 10:26-28

In the course of this study, we have learnt that the journey towards perfection demands personal vision, willingness and patience.

Preparing for perfection also demands that you have a personal love for perfection- a deep desire to be like Christ.

Ps 49:4-5

I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

Now, parables are spoken by elders. Those who have been privileged to live with the elderly understand that a sigh or a yawn can be a message. They learn therefore to recognise and interpret dark sayings.

Well, anyone who desires to speak mysteries must be ready to sit with, and give his ear to the Ancient of Days.

When a man gives his ear to hear deep and secret things, he will speak accordingly. Armed with this weapon, he has no need to fear the onslaught of evil around him, because he has gained access to the mystery at work against him, as well as the divine mystery to overcome it.

A man who lacks this will be overcome by fear in the day of battle- when he is challenged by the wicked.

This means that the key to destroying the works of darkness against you is to fellowship with mysteries. You need to equip yourself with the mysteries of the Word that have the power to defeat and destroy every mystery at work against your life.

You know what to say to the devil that has come against your health, business, marriage, children, ministry and destiny because you have given your ear to dark sayings.

Rom 15:19-22

Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

I speak to you as my family. Perfection is a process, not a leap. It does not happen in a day; it requires that you desire it, and put in the work to get to it. Nothing just happens; you must be ready to pay the price.

Yea, so have I strived [desired] to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:

This is my testimony. I desired to live in the reality of the divine, the same way Smith Wigglesworth, Kenneth Hagin and Alexander Dowie did. My contention was: if they saw something in the Word, believed it, and it turned the world upside down by it, then the Word must do the same for me, and even more.

That desire moulded my personal vision. In working out the vision, I patiently grew in the study of, and fellowship with the Word. I was willing to learn, to pay the price to grow and gradually, I was built up to the level I am now...now, I love the Word...

I also observed that a person’s physical and biological traits can be traced to their bloodline. That led me to question: why would I be born of God, and not look, act, speak, rule, reign and have dominion like Him? Especially since the Word declares that I should bear the image of my heavenly Father? (I Cor 15: 49)

The desire to see the reality of His Word in my life fuelled my pursuit.

When you choose to walk this road, you must be fully committed. There will be times when it seems God is not responsive to you, when you do not seem to be getting what you desire; at that time, forgive God. Let your love for Him keep you in His presence.

Love got me to this level. My love for His Word is taking me higher still.

Brethren, you are called unto perfection, but it is love that will keep you going, in spite of the grievous oppositions that you encounter.

But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.

In Paul’s sojourn to preach the Word in such a different way, he saw it written: that there is a person that was unknown, not spoken of. Yet, that man shall be seen.

This means that, at present, you might be unknown in your world- unrecognised, not reckoned with- yet when you choose to love the LORD with all your heart and desire to be like Him on earth, they shall see you.

Paul was neither among the 12 nor the 70. He was not in the Upper Room in the day of Pentecost. Yet, he wrote more letters to the churches that anyone else!

Oh! Do you desire to write an epistle to your household, generation, children...? Do you desire to build new foundations in your world? It does not matter if you are not known- if you do not have what people think is needed to be successful in your world; when you determine to pay the price to get all of God, you will be seen as Paul was.

Paul saw himself in the book of Isaiah. This was a man who killed Christians? Yet, he boldly declared that men will see him.

The reason for his boldness? What was written.

Why are you waiting for a prophet to tell you who you are? Why not look into the Word and see yourself in it. Become the one who breaks limitations in prosperity, greatness, longevity, fruitfulness...in your world!

For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.

Now you see why the enemy is working hard to hinder you. He has seen that you are the one who will be heard; therefore he fights to hinder you. They have worked hard to have you tagged ‘a nobody’, to frustrate you in every way, because they do not want you to be seen, heard and understood.

When the apostles decided to choose a replacement for Judas, they chose someone who had been with them from the beginning.

Yet, Christ chose Paul, the unknown, to carry the gospel to the Gentiles.

It does not matter how dark your past was; if you will be serious with your walk unto perfection, God will make you a vessel like no other.

Heb 5:8-9

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Christ also suffered many things. Because He endured all and continued unto perfection, He was made the author of eternal salvation.

Understand this: Jesus did not ordain eternal salvation. God did. Yet, because of all Christ did, eternal salvation was transferred to Him. Now, no one can be saved except through Him, like it or not.

Lk 6:40

The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

Your Master, Jesus, was vested with the authorship of eternal salvation.

If you also desire to be as He is, then submit yourself to training. When you are fully trained, and become perfect, then like Him, you will become the author of a divine agenda in your world. This will be determined by the epistle you desire to write in your household.

When you get to the point where you desire to establish God in your household- to establish His power, abundance, nature- and you are full of willingness, patience and love for what you are saying, enough to pay the price in full, you will also become the author of God’s plan for your world.

Matt 10:26-28

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

Your enemy- the ones Christ says you should not fear- seek to hide certain things covered from you. They do not want you to give your ear to dark sayings.

If you will frustrate their expectations, then you seek to know mysteries.

What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

You cannot speak in the day when you have not given Him your ear at night. You cannot tell devils off when you have not received dark sayings from God.

Access to mysteries comes at a price- love for perfection; to be the best God desires you to be. Until you get to that point, you will struggle with the demands of God on your time, substance and attention.

You must love it, even when it is painful; because it is gainful.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul...

Those who kill the body, do so by hiding the mystery behind their evil deeds. Your confidence- the reason you do not fear them- is because you gave your ear to God in the night, to receive from Him the secret behind their evil plots.

It is what you hear from Christ in darkness that you declare boldly against the wicked.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My Father, I choose to love you.
  • Father, open me to see and hear secrets about my life, and the enemy.
  • Whatever the devil has put in place to kill in my world; I scatter and destroy by fire.
  • Whatever is covered against me, to kill in my world; I scatter and destroy by fire.

PREPARATION DEMANDS PERSONAL VISION (C)

REFERENCES: EPHESIANS 6:10-12, ISAIAH 57: 15, DEUTERONOMY 33:29, JOB 21:27-28

The desire of God for you this year is that you operate- lead, work, do business, minister, be a spouse and a parent- from the high place.

In this lesson, we continue to consider why the preparation for perfection demands personal vision.

Eph 6:10-12

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

In the journey to perfection, you must put on the whole armour of God. The wiles of the devil do exist but they are inconsequential when you are fully kitted and ready to do battle. When a Christian fails to pick up and arm himself with any of the armour, he cannot withstand the devil’s wiles.

Wrestling is not optional. The fight is on, whether you know it or not. There is a fight going on against your life, destiny, marriage, business, ministry, children, health...

What’s more, the fight is not with man; it is with powers, rulers, and spiritual wickedness, and they operate from high places.

When you fight such an enemy from a low place, you are setting yourself up for defeat. We experience retaliation after we pray because we are still in a low place. If you will fight and defeat these high-placed foes, then you must go higher.

Kit up with the whole armour of God- the Word, prayer, praise, holiness, obedience, sowing, etc- and fight from the high place.

Isa 57:15

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;

Consider the picture given of the Speaker. He is high.

When a man is intoxicated-high on a substance- his behaviour, words and actions, will reveal to whoever sees him, that he is in another realm.

God is revealing to you the essence of operating in the realm of the divine. When you drink of the Spirit, you get high. When you do business from this realm, you are high on the divine power of God.

Sadly many Christians are carnally minded. They seek to overcome in life without first settling matters in the spirit. They approach matters from a low place and wonder why their earthly and sensual wisdom was not enough to guarantee success. Yet, some other, less qualified person sails through because he was operating from a high place.

I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones

The One who is high and lofty dwells in a high and holy place, but He does not want to stay there alone. He desires men who will dwell in that place with Him.

Brethren, may you dwell with God in the high and holy place.

You cannot be there and not be high. You cannot be there and confronted by devils. When you dwell there, you carry the nature of God. You will shine as He shines, you will exude beauty, glory, strength, and walk in dominion, because you will be as He is.

Deut 33:29

Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee...

Whoever is saved by LORD, whether he is from Israel or from Abakaliki, is blessed indeed.

When you have the inner witness that He is your Saviour, you are assured of divine safety, for only he that is saved is safe. This means that He protects every good thing He is working in you as well as everyone He appoints to help you, and fights against every enemy of your excellence.

When God is your Saviour, He makes liars of all your enemies.

Oh, they said you would never be married, but your marriage is going strong; they said you would not have children, but you just had twins. They said you would be poor, but you control businesses; they said you will die before you reach 50, but you are still kicking at 80.

So, you can confidently declare that your enemies are liars over your life, destiny, health, business, marriage, children, assignment...

...and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

You cannot call a person a liar if he has not said something against you.

Your enemies declared evil from their high places-their covens, shrines, grooves- against you.

You call them liars because you are standing on the high places of God. From the high and holy place, you move to their high places and trample them down. You go there to destroy them and frustrate the expectations of these wicked ones.

Job 21:27-28

Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me. For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?

The story of Job begins with the revelation that the devil had tried many times, unsuccessfully, to get Job. The devil himself testified that he failed because God had built a hedge around Job.

In these portions of the scripture, we are given an insight into the work the devil put in to get Job, and why he failed to bring the great man of the east down.

High sensitivity is a trait of those who are high. When you walk in this realm, you know the thoughts of those around you. You cannot be a gullible victim of friendly foes in the high and holy place. You are fully aware of the thoughts and imagination of men towards and against you.

I know full well what you are thinking, the schemes by which you would wrong me. (NIV)

For you say, Where is the house of the rich and liberal prince [meaning me]? And where is the tent in which the wicked [Job] dwelt? (AMP)

When you are blessed by God, beware that there are those who will scheme against you, not because you have done them wrong, but because you have chosen to be generous and gracious with your blessings.

Observe that the same ones that called Job rich and generous also called him wicked. His offence was that he was a do-gooder- a giver.

They sought to know his house in order to do him harm there.

They were not seeking to fight him as a righteous man; they were keen on dealing with him as they would a wicked man. Therefore, their plan was to device means to wrong him.

Do not assume that your good deeds and worthy desire to help others will endear you into the hearts of all. Be battle ready to deal with those who will accuse you of wickedness because of your liberal soul...

This is why you must dwell in the high and holy place. From there, you will gain full access to the thoughts of the wicked against you. From there, you intercept and destroy the devices they have put in place to wrong.

Your strategic position in the high and holy place makes you more than a conqueror in the battle of life. You will overcome and excel, over and over again, proving to all that your testimonies are not flukes. They are proof of the mighty hand of God over you.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • Fire of God, possess my life to take me to the high and holy place.
  • My life, you are called to be in high places. Therefore, I charge my soul to receive the power of God to go to the high and holy place.
  • Whatever the wicked has put in place to wrong me- my health, wealth, marriage, ministry, children, assignment- this year, is a lie. I damage and destroy them by fire.
  • Whatever the wicked has put in place to bring me down from my high places this year; I scatter and destroy you by fire.

PREPARATION DEMANDS PERSONAL VISION (B)

REFERENCES: I SAMUEL 9:17-27; 10:1, PROVERBS 23:1-2, NUMBERS 22:41, II SAMUEL 22:34

As we walk into our year of divine perfection, we must understand that we have a part to play in bringing that word to reality in our lives.

Perfection demands preparation. God desires to perfect all that concerns us this year, but we must prepare for His work of perfection.

The level and depth of a man’s preparation is determined by the level and depth of his vision. The bible says that those who err in vision stumble in their judgements. This means that you cannot prepare beyond what you see.

You have to see well to prepare well.

Speaking to a multitude demands a different level of preparation than is needed to speak to 5people.

This means that the size of your vision will also determine the level of your preparation.

Your ability to see the size and magnitude of your destiny will determine how well you prepare unto perfection.

I Sam 9:17-27; 10:1

The ability to see well, and thus prepare well will be discussed today in relation to divine connection.

When purpose is not understood, abuse and waste are inevitable.

Many are connected to the grace of God upon my life, but do not understand the purpose for it.

The first thing to understand is that you are connected to this grace because I invited you through prayers. Everything that happened to bring you to this ministry and connect you to me was a divine set up to ensure that you honour the divine invitation.

Saul’s journey that morning seemed to be in search of missing animals. His servant’s suggestion that they seek a seer may seem to have been the invitation that led Saul to Samuel. Yet, when Samuel saw him, note what God said to him

And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! This same shall reign over my people.

What was a chance encounter to Saul was an expected and awaited one to Samuel. Although his servant has made the suggestion, both men had been invited by Samuel.

Understand this: whoever it was that invited you to TRPM, I invited both of you- the first to invite the other- by the Spirit of the LORD.

Note also that God did not say, ‘behold the men’ but ‘behold the man’.

Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer's house is.

Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer's house is. And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.

When you walk with a man who dwells in the high place, be careful to understand the purpose for the connection, so that you do not abuse it.

Saul stood before the seer and did not know who he was. However, the seer knew who he was, and had prepared for his arrival.

And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found.

It is time to get rid of the idea that your problems drove you to TRPM. You are not here because of what troubled you. You are here because I invited you.

This also means that your problems are inconsequential in comparison to the divine purpose for God called you.

And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father's house? And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?

Saul wondered at the words that Samuel spoke. When he considered his present reality, he struggled to see how that declaration of greatness could refer to him.

Have you also ever wondered at the prophetic declarations made concerning your life, especially when you consider your background and your problems?

And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlour, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons.

I am here to let you know that God has called me to take you to the high place. I therefore declare that you shall get to the high place, of wisdom, power, prosperity, dominion, and might.

And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee. And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul.

In Israel, the shoulder is the portion of the priests (Lev 7:32-34).

This means that, not only did Samuel invite Saul to the high place, and set him in the best seat, he also had the priest’s portion reserved for him.

At this time, Samuel was the priest, prophet and ruler in Israel. By offering Saul the shoulder, he initiated him into priesthood.

Note that it was not placed before the servant of Saul. So, although the servant invited Saul, and he did get to eat at the table, it was Saul God was looking for.

It is possible to invite someone to TRPM, but have them occupy a higher position than you. Do not take offence at that. Remember that they are there at the invitation of God, not yours.

If you are the one who has been invited and have been set at the chiefest place of the table, and served priestly meals, you will do wisely to consider the purpose so that you do not abuse the opportunity.

Understand that you are not here because someone invited you; you are not here because of your problems. You are here by divine appointment, and it is important that you see well in order to do well.

And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day. And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.

The priestly portion had been prepared and set aside for Saul long before the asses went missing. Samuel had him in mind before he invited the others. Saul should therefore have been at the high place sooner, but he was delayed. The missing asses were therefore nothing more than a set up to get him to his place, portion and purpose.

Your portion had already been set aside for you before your arrival here.

Considering all that the prophet said to him, as he ate, did Saul really understand the significance of what was before him?

You know God brought you to me, to be fed and prepared for destiny. Do you take time to consider the weighty words you hear, the strong meat of the Word you receive, they hardness of the discipline you are called to endure?  Do you consider if they are for you, and if yes, why?

And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.

And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad. And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?

So it was that Saul was anointed king after he had been anointed a priest and a prophet by reason of the shoulder he ate.

Like Saul, David was also anointed to be priest, prophet and ruler in Israel. The difference was that Saul did not understand what he had been given and he abused it.

Saul is gone, but you are here.

Pro 23:1-2

When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.

Saul, when you sit to eat with Samuel, consider what is placed before you. Ask questions: why have you set this before me? Why is he speaking these words to me? Why is he giving me these revelations?

Consider, diligently, what is set you before on this mountain. To do otherwise, to care only about eating the food, without paying attention to the message, is like putting a knife to your throat.

There are some people who will only take you to their low places, but Samuel took Saul to his high place- to the place of power, wisdom, dominion, victory.

You cannot be in the high place and be insignificant in your world. Christ has made you priests and kings, but you need a priest to take you up to his high place and feed you with the shoulder.

At the high place, no enemy can prevail against you. Saul learnt that the hard way when he chased David to the high place of Samuel.

Num 22:41

And it came to pass on the morrow, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, that thence he might see the utmost part of the people.

Every kingdom has its high places. You also must get to your high place in wisdom and power. Your high places are higher than where you are at present.

While many Christians fail to lay hold of the high place, the wicked understand and use it to get maximum results.

When king Balak desired to have Israel cursed, he took prophet Balaam to the high places of his idols. He understood that, to see well, shoot well, and deliver maximum damage to your enemies, you must stand on the high place.

From that vantage point, Balaam could see the cover of God over Israel. He also saw that the way to get them was to lure them into pollution and defilement, because he was on the high place.

If you also desire to see and know the enemy, to gain the upper hand against them, you must also go up to your high places.

When you go to the high places, you will see, you will hear, you will prophesy.

Do not make the mistake Saul made. When you get to the high place, consider well what is set before you.

II Sam 22:34

He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

Standing on your high places demands that your legs be trained. Like a soldier, you must submit to drilling in order to get your legs lean and strong- like the deer’s feet- for the journey up.

God is saying, ‘for you to stand on the high places of your destiny, I need to train your feet.’ Many are in dire need to an overhaul. Their inner man is too soft for the journey to the high places. They are too encumbered with irrelevant things and too lax in their judgement about their destinies.

Your feet must be made, your soul must be drilled in order to be set, established on your high places.

Saul did not return to the high place, but David went back.

Make your journey to the high places your priority.

Train for it.

Consider what is set before you there.

Live from your high places.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My Father, feed me with Your raw fire and take me to the high places.
  • My life, receive sufficient power to go the high places.
  • Holy Ghost, open my eyes to see and hear well. Open my ears to hear and see well.
  • Every attack against my life, from the high places of the devil; I scatter and slay you by fire.

UNDERSTANDING THE ENEMY OF YOUR NEW GLORY IN CHRIST (PART 2)

REFERENCES: MICAH 2: 7-10, HAGGAI 2:3-5, REVELATIONS 3:11-13

We will begin with a recap of the first part of this teaching.

Firstly, we learnt that the enemies of new glory are:

  • wrong leadership

  • powerlessness

  • activities exceeding spirituality

  • polluted spiritual environment and atmosphere

  • lack of fighting spirit

We have also learnt that the Word and the Spirit are the key building materials in the kingdom of God; with these two, you are guaranteed to glow in the glory of God.

The devil is on a mission to put the lives of Christians in reverse, but God is determined to put you on the fast track. Therefore, He shall make you a front runner this year, in Jesus name.

Mic 2: 7-10

O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lord straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war. The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever. Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

The Word and the Spirit: the power duo behind the wondrous doings of God.

Genesis records that the earth was void in the beginning. This means that it was ugly by God’s standard. (However, by human standards, it was beautiful). As He spoke the Word, the Spirit moved- backing up the Word to create God’s beautiful earth.

The good works of God can only become a reality in the life of a Christian when he has the Word and the Spirit. It is therefore foolhardy for any Christian to live without the Word. It is the harbinger of the Spirit, and without the former, you cannot get the latter.

Where these two are absent, error runs free, and those who should stand as the ministers of God become thieves- stealing the glory of children, the joy of wives and the security of men- turning the place of rest into a land of sore destruction.

There is no new glory in a polluted environment. Wise men will do well to know this and depart from there. Do not waste your time or cause your destiny harm by remaining in such a place.

Hag 2:3-5

Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing? Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts: According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.

A Christian who dwells in the deep revelation of the Word can never run dry of the Spirit.

Without the Word, the Spirit cannot abide. The Spirit will only stay and do His work as long as He can find the Word in you. Together, they will produce glorious works.

If you desire the presence and works of the Spirit in you, you must find and fill up on the Word. Whatever you desire in the Spirit- wisdom, power, prosperity- will be yours as long as the Spirit can find the living Word in you.

Remember, the baptism of Holy Ghost came, with fire, only after the disciples had been fed with the Word for 3 years.

Rev 3:11-13

Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches..

No Christian can attain glory without a rugged, fighting spirit. You will be sorely disappointed if you expect to be shielded from the assaults of the enemy.

It takes ruggedness to reign. You will only rise, despite the ‘gravitational’ pull of trials, assaults and tribulations, when your soul is rugged.

Your destiny is the ‘that’ which you must hold fast. Now, when God says hold that fast, be assured that there will be bombardments against your destiny. Your responsibility: be ready to hold on tight, no matter what bombardment you encounter.

...that no man take thy crown

Your crown is in your destiny. As long as you hold fast to your destiny, you will keep your crown. The devil knows that whatever you achieve outside ‘that’ is a waste. Therefore he will fight hard to make lose ‘that’, as well as your glory. Now, you might consider your ‘that’ a small thing, but the enemy knows its real worth.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out

This is the reason for a fighting spirit.  You have to fight the enemy of your ‘that’ and overcome; and the fight is not a onetime thing. You keep fighting, at every stage of your life. Every victory you win is the beginning of a new battle. Bottom-line: be battle ready always.

The secret to true greatness in Christ- the key to standing unmoveable in the Kingdom- is continuous conquest.

Every standing man you see in Christ is a product of many conquests. They are rugged warriors, like David, who have fought without wavering and conquered. They do not waste time comparing themselves to others, but rise- fearlessly- to every challenge.

These men are the pillars- constant personalities in the Kingdom. They have become stable, unmoveable forces in the Lord.

... and I will write upon him the name of my God

God gave a charge to Moses concerning the stones for the commandments: present them before Me. Like those stones, God will only write upon you when you have presented your soul to Him. When you do, two things will happen.

Firstly, He will write upon your soul. However, in doing that, He will also be over-writing on previous writings; superimposing His divine will over every old judgement that has held you captive...

When God writes upon your soul, the satanic writings of failure, disappointment, confusion, loss...will be replaced. You will become a recipient of favour, mercy and goodness that you cannot explain.

This can only happen when you abide in His temple, because no one writes on a paper while it flies in the air. You need to become like paper that is laid before the writer- still, stable, patiently waiting for the Writer’s hand.

...and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name

A pillar cannot be confused about His God, or his heavenly journey. How can he, when he has the name of God and the name of His glorious city written upon him!

When you stay as a pillar, Christ will also write His new name upon you. This means that whoever sees you has seen the Christ, and whoever dares attack you will have the fire of God to contend with.

...He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches

This is the principle of God to all the churches. Your responsibility is to abide before Him. No more distracted living, no more impatient waiting. Stay perpetually on fire; one day, everyone will look at you and testify to the glorious change in you.

The enemy is not your problem. Your ability to present your soul before God, every day, month and year, determines if you will receive His writing and become a carrier of His glory.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My life, receive fire to stay in God’s fire.

  • Whatever has been taking me out of God’s fire, I destroy you by fire now.

  • My soul, you will not go out of God’s fire again.

  • Every judgement of the wicked written on me; I erase you by fire.

  • Every handwriting of the wicked that follows my life; I erase you by fire.

  • Fire of God, write on me.

ACCESSING THE NEW GLORY DEMANDS NEW CONSTRUCTION (PART 2)

REFERENCES: JOHN 1: 40-42, MATTHEW 16:15- 18, I PETER 2:5, II CORINTHIANS 3: 6-12

In the first part of this teaching, we learnt that:

  • Every kingdom building demands two solid materials: the spirit and the word

  • The source of the materials used determines the strength and quality of the building

  • The materials used reflect the master plan

  • The master plan determines the process

  • God speaks in eternity; man speaks in time

Jn 1: 40-42

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.  And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Where you are in your Christian journey is a product of what has been revealed to you. The depth of revelation you have about Christ determines how far you go in Him.

Andrew heard about Jesus through the words of John the Baptist, and on this truth, he not only followed Him, but also sought out his brother.

When Simon came before Christ, the bible says He beheld him. This went beyond just looking at him; it meant that Christ looked into him and revealed his true nature to him: thou art Simon the son of Jonah. Thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation a stone.

Peter was not told when this would be, but he knew that, one day, his name would change.

Many Christians struggle because they do not remember the revelation Christ gave to them. Therefore, they fail to work out the change that He promised to them.

Matt 16:15- 18

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

When Peter, speaking from a place of revelation, declares that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, Christ acknowledge the divine source of his words; but He did something else as well.

I also say unto you...

What you say to God determines what He will say back to you. Your confession before Him determines His declaration to you. Anyone who desires to hear God speak over his life must therefore speak a-right to Him first.

At this moment, the promise Christ had declared to Peter at their first meeting became a reality. No more would he be called Cephas, he was now called Peter.

When you walk and speak from the place of revelation, you will also hear God change your name.

I Pet 2:5

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Peter is speaking here in line with the revelation he received. You also, he says, are living stones like me.

Becoming a stone puts you out of the devil’s reach, because he is only permitted to eat the dust of the earth; not stones.

This was the life saving difference between Peter and Judas. The devil could ‘eat’ Judas, but was frustrated by Peter because the latter had been made a stone, before he erred. You can also frustrate the devil killing in your household by becoming ‘Peter’.

This is the reason for your connection to the Word of God; you are connected to be reconstructed- built up to claim and enjoy your divine inheritance, and also to prove the devil wrong.

II Cor 3: 6-12

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

While God engraved the ‘ministration of death’ on stones, His reflection fell upon Moses. So great was it that the prophet’s face shone brightly and he had to cover his face.

Now, if the ministration of death that came from God and was divinely engraved on stones could be changed, then any work of man, made upon any material to minister affliction, death, poverty or oppression can be destroyed.

When God engraved the second stone, it was placed in the ark of God. Today, the ark has been done away with. God no longer writes upon stones; now, He engraves His word upon your heart.

If this ministration, that was temporary and to be done away with, carried such glory, how much more glorious do you imagine the ministration of life would carry?

This means that whatever glory you had before Christ saved you is really no glory at all! Therefore, you need not fret because someone claims to have stolen it. All the thief has done is save you the trouble of discarding yourself!

Walk in the confidence of this truth. Speak boldly, fearlessly in the face of every opposition and attack because the real glory is in you.

Your concern, your responsibility should be to access and retain the new, truly glorious, glory. Your main focus should be to walk in the reality of the revelation of the Word.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • I receive fire to become a living stone.

  • Holy Ghost, reconstruct my life.

  • My soul, receive raw fire of God, to prove the devil wrong.

  • Any evil ministration, written on my soul, against my destiny; I cast you out of my life by fire.

  • Any evil work, ministered to my life, to damage God’s agenda over my life; I cast you out now

  • Evil judgement ministered to my life to reconstruct my destiny; I destroy you by fire.

ACCESSING YOUR NEW GLORY IN CHRIST: ACCESSING THE NEW GLORY DEMANDS NEW TRAINING IN CHRIST (PART 2)

ACCESSING THE NEW GLORY DEMANDS NEW TRAINING IN CHRIST (PART 2)

REFERENCES: PHILIPPIANS 3: 12, PROVERBS 27:21-22, I THESSALONIANS 4:3-4, GALATIANS 1: 11-12, 15-16

The inaugural theme of this ministry- Apprehended to Apprehend- is still relevant 6 years on. This is because, purpose must never be forgotten, or else, profit will be frustrated.

In the first part of this teaching, I revealed to the congregation what God had said to me: that front liners have been distracted, and are missing from their duty posts. As we continue with the topic, we will learn why this is, and how to change that reality.

In the process, I will be revealing details of my life to help you understand where I have been, and why I cannot and will not play with destiny.

Phil 3: 12

Not as though I had already attained, neither were already perfect, but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of in Christ.

In a just society, no one is arrested without cause. When a suspect is apprehended, the first question he asks is: what are the charges?

In the same manner, every Christian must ask Christ: why have You apprehended me? For what purpose did you keep me alive until the day of my salvation?

My life was a mess before Christ saved me. I was left to live alone in a different state from where my parents were. There, I lived like any teenager left to his own devices would- with no regard for the peculiar situation I was in, or the consequences of my actions.

Thanks be to Christ who arrested me. Like Paul, I asked Him: Why and I received the answer.

I know that I was apprehended of Christ so that I can apprehend those who live messy lives. Therefore, I cannot play or sleep away my time, not while souls are in captivity. And I know He did not send me to religious people; no, He sent me to train front liners- those chosen to apprehend others.

Pro 27: 21-22

As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold, so is the man to his praise. Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

When a man is apprehended by Christ, and has discovered the reason for his salvation, he must go for relevant training- to prepare and equip him for his destiny. An untrained Christian- although he has been called to bring order to his household- will display a lack of discipline, and his life will be void of order and direction.

Now, the training process is not always easy, but it is crucial in fulfilling destiny. Do not be deceived by teachings that portray the Christian journey as a walk in the park. Do your destiny a great favour by submitting to relevant training and committing to it until you are ready to apprehend.

Your training is also determined by what you have been called to be- silver, gold, or even wheat. Now, gold is gold before it is refined. However, its true value will remain hidden, and its worth unappreciated, until it is put in the furnace and stays there long enough for all its impurities to be melted off.

Silver will not have to go through the same intensity of fire as gold, and wheat would rather have to endure the rigour of threshing to separate it from its chaff; each to its own.

It would be foolish for gold to compare itself to silver; on the other hand, wheat would not survive in a fining pot. The ‘fire’ you will go through is determined by the vessel you were apprehended to become. Do not compare yourself to others.

Front liners are distracted because they do not want to pass through their fire. Some do not even know their fire!

Every man has praise in him, but it can only be accessed after he has gone through his fire. Gold is gold before the fire, but its true praise is only unveiled after it has been refined in the furnace- when it has been rid of all impurity, pollution and contamination.

I had heard about a man of God whose name was similar to mine. When we finally did meet, recently, I discovered that we were from the same family. That of course meant that we had a lot more to talk about than earlier planned!

In the course of our chat, he told me about how, on the 29th day of a 30-day fast, God had appeared to him and told him that, in order to conquer certain household battles, he would have to go on a 40-day no-food fast.

As he spoke, I marvelled at the ways of God, and revealed to him that I had also been instructed to do the same by God. Now, what would have happened if I had failed God? I certainly would not have had the boldness to testify like he did.

Sadly, many Christians are where they are today because of their failure to take on responsibility at the right time.

It is every man to his praise; every man to his fire. If men will behold divinity in you, and thank God for bringing you into their lives, then you must go through your fire.

Wheat here talks about those who are called to be the industrious vessels of their households. Now, while gold and silver must go through intense heat, these ones must endure the pestle’s pounding. God will pound at them to separate them from the chaff and make them viable to be processed.

Sadly, there are those who rebel against the work of the pestle and mortar, choosing to continue in their foolishness.

I Thess 4:3-4

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication, that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour

Sanctification is the will of God. Therefore, everything that negates sanctification keeps you outside of God’s will and frustrates your praise. The charge is clear: stay away from fornication. Temptations will come, but it is your responsibility to know how to possess your vessel at all cost.

Continuing in sin is a sign that you have not possessed your body. Instead, your body is in charge. When you possess your body, you will put your foot down and stir the course of your life aright. When you possess your soul, it will heed your charge and reject the offerings of the devil.

Brethren, your praise is in your fire. By all means, seek the knowledge of how to possess your vessel- body, soul, destiny, and glory- and stay in your fire until your praise shines forth.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My life, receive raw fire of God, to become what He has called you to be.

  • I receive fire to possess my vessel.

  • Whatever happened against my destiny to cover my glory; you are a liar. Today, I destroy you by fire.

  • Every judgment against my destiny, to cover up my glory. I damage you by fire.

ACCESSING YOUR NEW GLORY IN CHRIST: ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR CELESTIAL LIFE FULLY IN CHRIST

ACCESSING YOUR NEW GLORY IN CHRIST:

ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR CELESTIAL LIFE FULLY IN CHRIST

REFERENCES: NUMBERS 12: 5- 8, Ex 33: 11, 13-23, Ex 34:1- 9

Your life, as you presently know it, is a shadow- a pattern- of your celestial life. The celestial life is your true life. If you have seen a vision of a man who looks a lot like you, but is more glorious, lives in a beautiful house, drives a great car, does exploits in business or ministry, that is the real you- you as predestined by God. Your responsibility as a Christian is to make your terrestrial life agree with the celestial you.

In the first part of this teaching, we learnt how to lay hold of the celestial life as revealed by God through visions. Today, we will be looking at acknowledging your celestial life as revealed in the Scriptures.

If you have heard the Word of God expressly in your heart, or find yourself continuously coming across a portion of the Scriptures, with a witness in your heart that the Word is for you, that Word is a pointer to your life in the Book.

Num 12: 5- 8

And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

Prophets see visions and dream dreams. However, with Moses, God raised the bar. While expressing His anger at Aaron and Miriam, He declared that He will speak mouth to mouth with Moses, and cause him to see His similitude.

Ex 33: 11, 13-23

And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again unto the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto Him, if thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight: is it not in that thou goest with us? So shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. And the lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And He said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And He said, thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: and it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: and I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

At this time, Moses had seen God through the fire, heard His voice and seen His great works. Yet, he was asking for grace to know Him! He understood that there was still a lot that he had not seen, and needed to see God in a new way.

This is important because, beholding God means seeing a clear reflection of your life; and the more of God you see determines how much of your life you discover.

Moses took God at His Word, and held Him to it. So, even as God declared that it was impossible for anyone to see Him and live, even as He proposed instead to have all His goodness go before Moses, the man knew what he had heard and would not settle for anything else. So, when God told Moses no one could see Him and live, he kept silent and waited, until God made a way to fulfil His Word...

His mindset is one every Christian should emulate. Every word God has shown to you can become your reality if you are ready to stay in the place of prayer and hold Him to His Word.

God made Moses stand upon a rock. You also must be ready to stand upon the Word and wield it in accessing the fulfilment of God’s word. You must walk with the consciousness that there must be a way to get hold of every promise God has made to you.

Ex 34:1- 9

And the LORD said unto Moses, hew thee two table of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest. And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount. And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before the mount...

Brethren, be ready to work in prayer and in the study of the Word this year. This year, you must be ready to stand alone, to stand on the mountain; to seek God while others snore away...You must be ready to walk the walk without support from anyone, not even your spouse. Do not compare yourself with others, do not wait for others to catch the Word; go up to mountain and do what no man in your household has ever done. That is the secret of unparalleled greatness.

And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children unto the third and to the fourth generation. And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped...

Carefully consider this: the Lord descended, stood with Moses and proclaimed His name. Then, the Lord passed by Moses, and proclaimed again. This was not a slip, neither was it mere repetition. As an example, consider the times when God has brought the same portion of the scripture to you, but the second time, it was so different, you wondered if it was really the same word.

Brethren, do not think you know God yet. You have not discovered God to the full extent to which He can be discovered. When He proclaimed Himself again, it was to reveal Himself in a new way to Moses. When he saw God in this different, more glorious light, Moses hastened to bow before Him.

And he said, if now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance...

Taking advantage of this atmosphere, he interceded for the people and settled the matter of their entry into the Promised Land.

You can also settle the matter of future generations.

Do you desire for God to proclaim Himself anew in your life? Then, stay with God and present every word He has given to You before Him, until He brings it to pass. Obey His instructions fully, even when it is not convenient. Then God will fulfil His Word over your life and show Himself to you in a way no one else can fathom.

In the name of Jesus,

  • My soul, receive the fire of God, to see what the Lord has called you to see, to do what the Lord has called you to do, to be all the Lord has called you to become.

  • My destiny, receive the fire of God, to see what the Lord has called you to see, to do what the Lord has called you to do, to be all the Lord has called you to become.

  • Fire of the God, fill me up now.

  • Every negative judgement that has turned my life upside down; I destroy your power by fire now.

SACRIFICE PROVOKES BREAKTHROUGH (PART C)

REFERENCES: II SAMUEL 7: 12- 15, II SAMUEL 12: 1- 12 , JOB 31: 9- 12

II Sam 7: 12- 15

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: but my mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

These were the words of God, by the mouth of Nathan,a prophet, to David. Now, these words were not sent to him the day he purposed to build a house for God, but when he had already prepared all that was needed for the building. No one offers to God without being led by God, and when God leads a man to offer a sacrifice to Him, it is so that He can bless the man.  Therefore, David’s decision to build a house for God, as he was led by the Spirit, was so that God could bless him.

But that is not all. Whenever God leads you to offer a sacrifice, it could be so that He can correct something in your past, or deal with something in your future.

A case in point was the demand He made on Abraham to offer his son as a sacrifice. This was in order to correct Abraham’s past error of ‘manufacturing’ Ishmael. Not only did he father a child by his flesh, he insisted that God bless the child. In doing so, he blessed and empowered a ‘wild man’ (Gen 16: 12), thus risking the life of Isaac, the promised child.

Therefore, in order to save Isaac from a looming death by his brother’s hands (remember Cain and Abel?), God led Abraham to offer him as a sacrifice. As a result of his obedience, God blessed Isaac and gave him victory over his enemies (Gen 22:17) – referring to Ishmael.

In David’s case, his sacrifice brought upon him and his household the blessing of God, establishing his lineage upon the kingdom and the throne of Israel and Judah. However, every time God announces His plans to bless you, it attracts the devil...

II Sam 12: 1- 12

...thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul and I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in His sight? Thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah to be thy wife. Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

Sadly, after the word of God (The promise) had gone forth, David fell into the error of adultery and murder. And at that moment, a different judgement- of death- was pronounced and established against his household.

Whenever you discover a recurring pattern in the lives of your family members, it is a sign that the error of someone has established that evil in your household.

Now, the saddest part about his error was that he had access to lot more than he had killed for! God’s lamentation was that He had given him all that belonged to Saul, and would have given him even more, if he had just asked. Unfortunately, by forcefully taking what belonged to another, he lost that which had been given to him. He had unknowingly given the devil an avenue to establish evil in his family and the evil took hold of his children. The seed of death was thus established in the lives of his children- Amnon raped his half- sister and was killed by Absalom. Absalom became his father’s enemy, seeking to dethrone his father, and sleeping with David’s concubines in the open! While these atrocities continued, David could not divulge that he was the harbinger of evil.

It is sad to note that we are in a dispensation where men display indiscipline. Fidelity, integrity, accountability are no longer cherished or mentioned among the brethren. What they fail to realise, that their actions are seeds that will establish evil in the lives of their children. If only David had known that there was a judgement for his actions, He would have been wise enough to avoid the act.

Job 31: 9- 12

If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour’s door; then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her. For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges. For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.

Job however understood the evil that adultery brings and avoided it like a plague. This was the confidence he had, even in the midst of his afflictions, that his salvation was sure and his increase was certain. No wonder his end was better than his beginning.

But the same could not be said about David. Although the mercy of God saved his life, David had to bear the brunt of the fire that consumes unto destruction.

As God blesses you, it is important that you learn to reject every offer the devil presents to you. Remember that the enemy is simply looking for an avenue to establish the seed of evil in your life. Be willing to pay the price that will secure the destiny of your children.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My Father, I hand over my life to You.

  • Any gift that I have received from the kingdom of darkness, and has been working against my life; I reject you and cast you out of my life by fire.

We have learnt that Jesus has already perfected us and offered the one sacrifice that was needed to damage the power of the devil, thus empowering us to make footstools of all His enemies. As we continue this series, we will be looking at two pictures from the scripture.

If you have been called by God for a particular assignment in your household, environment or generation, then this teaching is for you.

Heb 5:4-5

And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as Aaron. So also Christ glorified not Himself to be made an high priest; but He that said unto Him, Thou art My Son, to day have I begotten thee.

Rom 8:30

Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.

As a Christian, it is important to know the purpose for your calling. You are called of God to be justified and glorified. This means that being born again is not the end of the process; you must also be glorified.

It also means that no man can glorify himself. Rather, God glorifies him by reason of the assignment He has given him, and endows him with honour. Even Christ did not make Himself the high priest! It therefore behoves anyone who has been called by God to live in humility, because he has been made what he is by God, in spite of his weakness.

Heb 8: 3

For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer

Rom 12:1

I beseech you therefore,  brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

We have already established the Christ was made our high priest. If you have also been called to carry out a particular assignment, it is important that you ask: what is expected of me? What is the sacrifice I must offer in order to activate the glory inherent in your calling?

Everyone ordained by God must do two things: offer the necessary sacrifices to God; and to give blessings to others.

Men and women who live lives of excellence and stand out as geniuses in their various fields do so because they live sacrificial lives. They paid the price to attain the level of greatness for which they are known, so that they would have something to give to their generation.

Therefore, once you can satisfy God with your life, by offering Him your body, time, money and substance, He will, of necessity, satisfy you with His power.

The implication of this is that, even when you are confronted with threatening and raging of enemies, even when your mother, father and entire household have nothing but grave news to give you, you can stand unmoved because you have this testimony: Christ Jesus, of necessity, has something to offer.

Eccl 10: 1

Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.

As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor. [NIV]

An apothecary refers to a chemist or pharmacist of old. When a fly hovers around oil, you swat it off to prevent it from falling in, because once it does, it dies and pollutes the oil.

This picture is poetic in nature. Our lives are the ointment of the apothecary and we must, unrelentingly, swat off every fly the devil has sent to pollute our anointing. It is a dangerous thing to tire of doing this, because the dead fly in your oil will corrupt your life.

Once the devil discovers that you are a city set on a hill, to give light to your household and generation, he will spare no cost to put you under. Therefore when you allow the flies of anger, immorality, alcoholism, dishonesty etc into your life, the little folly will outweigh the honour of God in you.

You are the medicine God has prepared to cure all that ails your family, your environment and your generation. If you must fulfil this assignment you must get rid of all flies- every error- appointed to contaminate your destiny.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My Father I hand over my life to you. I repent of my old error and rededicate my life to You.

  • Any error sent too my life, to overpower and repackage my destiny; I cast you out and destroy you by fire.

  • Any strange thing sent to my spouse, my marriage, to overpower and repackage our marital destiny; I cast you out by fire.

  • Any wicked power sending error to my life at the edge of breakthrough; I slay you by fire.

  • My Father, satisfy with Your power.

SACRIFICE PROVOKES BREAKTHROUGH (PART A)

REFERENCES: HEBREWS 10: 11- 15, JOHN 12: 31-32, II KINGS 3: 1-27

There can be no breakthrough without sacrifice. Great visions or promises of breakthrough will only remain so until the needed sacrifice is made to make them a reality.

Heb 10:11-15

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Offering a sacrifice for breakthrough, and offering a sacrifice that indeed provokes breakthrough are two different things.

These priests offered sacrifices so that it would take away sins. Yet, the bible records that their sacrifices can never do so. Their offering simply did not have the capacity to do so.

Brethren, the sad reality is that it is possible to offer sacrifices that are incapable of provoking the breakthrough that we desire. Like these priests, many Christians give offerings of prayer, money and service that do not have the capacity to stir up and sustain the expected breakthrough.

This means that, if you desire a different result this year, then you must be ready do things differently.

"but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;"

May you be this man.

The man who will make a change in his household and generation is the one who is ready to offer what others could not offer. If you must cross from the level of breaking to breaking through, then you must offer the ‘one sacrifice’ that will change the face of the battle forever. Then, you can sit down and relax, confident that nothing can contend with your breakthrough.

"from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool."

Now when Jesus, the Man, offered the sacrifice, He sat down, with the expectation that all His enemies will be brought under His feet. The question then is: who will bring these enemies down?

It is our responsibility as Christians to bring down the enemies that Christ has rendered powerless by His sacrifice. That is why it is a futile prayer for anyone to pray that Christ should come down and destroy His enemies...that is our responsibility now.

Making Christ’s enemies His footstool is a process. Now, it took Jesus three-and-a-half years to make His disciples fishers of men. Well, it might take you as much as ten years to make footstools of the enemies in your household. However, if you believe that you will breakthrough and persevere in your assignment, then you surely will.

"For by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified."

The reason Christ has entrusted this responsibility in our hands is because He has already made us more than conquerors. The day He offered that ‘one sacrifice’, He perfected us forever. This means that, while you might be failing and struggling at the moment, and all you see might indicate that you are without hope, you are really a working progress and are destined for divinely orchestrated success.

So, He has already made you a great success, though you are still struggling. He has already made you an oppressor, though you are still under oppression

By one sacrifice, you can walk in the reality of this perfection; by one sacrifice, you can also perfect the lives and destinies of your children.

"Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us"

We have a divine witness to your true reality- that we are more than this. It is therefore important that you hold on to this truth fiercely, no matter what your present experiences may be.

Jn 12: 31-32

Now is the judgement of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Jesus is a visionary.

Just as He observed the work of the Father in casting out the devil, He acknowledged His own responsibility and the price He needed to pay. He understood that it was not just that He needed to die, but that His death had to be according to His Father’s commandment- on the cross. Then and only then will He be able to draw the hearts of men to Himself. But he was not just interested in the Jews. He desired the hearts of all men...including those in this part of the world.

Because of His sacrifice, wherever His name is mentioned, men are drawn unto Him. If you also offer the sacrifice that is required of you, you will draw all men, in every nation of the earth, to yourself.

It is therefore important that you obey divine instruction to the letter. It is not enough to offer sacrifices; great importance must be given to total obedience to God’s instruction.

When you have done so, you can also sit like Jesus and watch as all men are drawn to you, and your enemies fall at your feet.

Now, there is a counterfeit to every original. This means that, just as the right sacrifice will draw men to you, evil sacrifices can also be made to draw men away. So, if you discover that helpers turn away from you at the edge of breakthrough, it is because a contrary sacrifice has been offered.

II kgs 3: 1-27

V26-27 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not. Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.

Israel’s battle with Moab started off in their favour. They had received a prophecy from God, through Elisha, that they would go and return victorious. God even caused water to well up, out of the desert for them. And so, in league with the kings of Judah and Edom, they went to war and prevailed.

The king of Moab turned his attention to the king of Edom, attacking him with 700 men of valour, but he could not breakthrough, because the Lord had spoken.

Then he did the unusual; he offered up his eldest son, the heir to the throne, as a sacrifice, and placed him upon the wall for his men to see.

At that grim sight, in that moment, a great wrath welled up in his soldiers against their enemies. Suddenly, the tables turned against Israel and the Moabites gained the upper hand. Unfortunately, Israel did not bother to enquire and offer a greater sacrifice. So, despite the prophecy, they could not conquer and retreated from the battle ground.

Many Christians have also gone into the battle of life on the strength of prophecies. They are therefore shocked to discover the enemy having the upper hand. They fail to realise that no promise, vision or prophecy of breakthrough can become a reality without sacrifice.

If you must walk in the divine reality that is your destiny, you must be willing to do all that God requires of you. Offer the sacrifice; experience the breakthrough.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • Holy Ghost, make me the man.

  • My soul, receive the fire to do what is expected of you.

  • Father, I need the fire to do all and do them well.

  • Any sacrifice that turns back my helpers; I damage you by fire.

  • Every sacrifice offered in my household, sending helpers against me; I damage and destroy you by fire.

  • Any ancestral sacrifice contesting with my destiny; I bring you down by fire.

  • Any sacrifice speaking against my life; I silence you by fire.

EMPOWERMENT PRECEDES RESPONSIBILITIES (PART B)

As we anticipate prosperity this year, we must understand that adversity is also inevitable. Whoever desires to walk in prosperity must also be ready to face adversity, because his prosperity is hidden in his adversity.

Eccl 7: 14

In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity, consider: God also hath set the one against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after Him.

It is God who has set these two: prosperity and adversity before man. However, the latter is not to destroy but rather to lead us into our prosperity.

Therefore, as we seek opportunities that lead to prosperity, we must seek and acquire the relevant knowledge needed to overcome adversity.

Just as there are differences in time zones around the world, there are different seasons of adversity and prosperity for every man. This means that your time of adversity may be the time of another man’s prosperity. You must therefore be sensitive to your time and be prepared.

Ps 94: 10- 13

He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not He correct? He that teacheth man knowledge, shall not He know? The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest out of Thy law; that Thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

No man, no matter what he knows or what his qualifications are, can be blessed until he has been disciplined by God and taught out of His Word. Your academic training and vocational skills may give you prosperity, but they cannot prepare you for adversity.

The purpose of discipline and divine training is to make us ready recipients of prosperity. The presence or absence of discipline marks the difference between those who face adversity and smile, as against those who weep at such a time. A disciplined Christian will dress for prosperity, walk and talk wisely, and prepare for the opportunity to come by waiting to be taught by God.

Not only does such a man experience rest- relief- in the day of trouble, he will also see the end of his enemies. Like David, God desires to train us well and make us His weapons of destruction against the Goliaths in this dispensation.

When a Christian walks in this understanding, and submits himself to divine discipline and instruction, he will be confident of victory, and laugh in the face of the adversary. Unfortunately, the lack of preparation of many Christians had made them victims of adversity.

I Cor 16: 8-9

But l will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost [power]. For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

Pentecost means power. So, Paul is saying ‘l will tarry at Ephesus until I receive power.

Brethren, wherever you are this year, wait until you receive power. There will be great doors of opportunities opened to you this year; however you can only access them when you have power, because there are adversaries waiting on the way.

If you desire, like David, to experience victory in the time of adversity and walk in the resulting prosperity, you must be disciplined, instructed by God and lastly, filled with the power of God.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My soul, receive the fire to eliminate every form of adversaries.

  • Any adversary waiting this year to stop my opportunities; I destroy you by fire.

  • Any power waiting to block my way; I erase you by fire.

  • Any agent of darkness dragging my life with me; I destroy you fire.

  • Any wicked power that has been prevailing over me in times past; I conquer you by fire.

EMPOWERMENT PRECEDES RESPONSIBILITIES

REFERENCES: EXODUS 6: 9-13, ISAIAH 41: 15-16, MICAH 6:1

God empowers for a responsibility. You need therefore to be empowered for the responsibility of breaking through this year.

Ex 6: 9-13

And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage. And the LORD spake unto Moses saying, And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

Moses had a divine encounter. He saw the burning bush; he heard the voice of God and received a commission from Him- go to Egypt and rescue My people. Armed with all these, he went to the children of Israel and spoke all the words of the Lord to the people, but they would not listen!

Brethren, we would do well to not be carried away by dreams and visions, but rather seek the empowerment to handle them. Like Moses, it is possible to receive revelations of your assignment, but still experience great opposition in carrying it out. At that point, giving up and questioning God’s faithfulness is not the answer. Instead, it is time to go back to God and report to Him.

There are Christians who have been commissioned by God to rescue their household, but find that things are working contrary to the vision they received, even after obeying the divine instruction. This only means that you need a divine charge- the divine empowerment- to carry out your responsibility to fulfilment.

Moses went back to God and reported the matter to Him. ‘I have done all You asked but things are not working out as I expected’. God’s response was to send him back again, not only to the children of Israel, but also to Pharaoh. This time, He sent him to give him a charge, both to the children of Israel and Pharaoh.

"Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land. And Moses spake before the LORD saying, Behold the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?"

How then does a Christian go back to those that once despised his words, as well as to the enemy of his assignment?

God did not send Moses back as before. This time, He gave him a charge- both to the children of Israel and Pharaoh.

The divine charge was of two parts- to bring the Israelites out of captivity; but to bring destruction upon the enemy in their way. This means that the same charge that will empower you to bring out all that God has commissioned you to deliver, will bring destruction upon the enemy that has frustrated your assignment.

Brethren, God is waiting for you to seek Him and receive the divine charge for your divine assignment...

Isa 41:15-16

Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills the chaff. Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One in Israel.

God is not only interested in making a sharp instrument, He desires to equip you with the ‘teeth’ to bring down every opposition in your way. Every construction company knows that it cannot go far without dynamites. If it must clear the way of all blockages and obstructions, it must have the means to blast them away.

In the same way, every Christian must acquire relevant tools- dynamites, not sledge hammers- to blast away the oppositions. God will not come down to drive these enemies away. Rather, if you will seek His face and wait on Him, He will empower you and make you a renowned terror before the wicked.

At that moment, you will cease to mourn. Instead, you will have found cause to rejoice and glory, not in your abilities, substance, or qualifications, but in the Lord...

Micah 6:1

Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.

Brethren, you must have the relevant power to contend with, and bring down every mountain that will dare to stand in your way this year.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My Father, I submit my life to You. Make my heart new to fight again.

  • My soul, receive new strength to fight again and bring the mountain down.

  • My soul, receive the fire to pray through.

  • I receive the divine charge to see the way and go through it.

  • Any power standing as a mountain to block my way; I destroy you by fire.
