THE PURPOSE OF EXPANDING YOUR TERRITORY IN CHRIST

REFERENCES: II TIMOTHY 4:14-15, 7, 16-17, PROVERBS 11: 10-11, 16

II Tim 4:14-15, 7, 16-17

Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works: Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

These are the words of a dying man.

Paul writes to Timothy, intimating him of the end of his earthly assignment and journey. (v7)

While doing so, he also warns him about Alexander the Coppersmith, who did him much evil. ‘Beware of him’, he warns his protégé, ‘because he dealt with the works of God in my hands.’

At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

Alexander’s evil reached as far as chasing all of Paul’s helpers away from him.

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me...

Thankfully, Christ stood with him, and strengthened him.

Now, Christ had always been with Paul; and Paul already had strength. However, his encounter with Alexander revealed his need for a greater level of strength; a level that was proportionate to the challenge he was facing, and the work before him.

Therefore, he prayed, and Christ strengthened him. He received full capacity for the work that must be done through him.

...that by me

The purpose of power is work. That purpose is defeated in the life of the man who is not ready to work.

When a man fails to understand the purpose for the power he has, he will abuse it; and once he abuses the power, he will lose it.

The work must be done; if not through you, then by another.

If you do not do it, someone else will rise to the challenge. When you do not work the work with the power you are given, it will be taken from you and given to another.

...that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear:

Paul needed full capacity- full power- for his great vision.

You see, Paul’s vision went beyond just preaching. His desire was to ensure that the Gospel was fully known.

This means that, while the gospel had indeed been preached, and was been preached, he was driven by the vision to see it preached fully; no remainders, no left behinds.

Consider this: many have been blessed in your household; but there is a kind of prosperity that is yet to be known there. Many exploits have been wrought in your household, but they are yet to be done fully.

Through you, God desires to manifest and establish His prosperity, blessings and greatness fully.

Also consider this.

Mental capacity without spiritual capacity leads to profitability without sustainability.

Prosperity without the fire of God is not complete.

If you prosper mentally, but not spiritually, your blessing cannot be fully known.

When a man develops his mental capacity, but lacks spiritual capacity, he will make profit, but will lack the power to sustain it.

On the other hand, a man who has developed his spiritual capacity, but lacks mental capacity has no business by which to make profit.

...and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

When a man receives full capacity, while in the grip of the enemy, he will not remain there long. As he increases in strength and expands, the lion that swallowed him will be more than willing to vomit him.

Pro 11: 10-11, 16

When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

Be wary of the praise of men.

When men praise you in your household, giving glory to you as the source of the good they enjoy, be wise; beware.

The prosperity of the righteous man has far reaching consequences- of promotion, elevation, and progress- for his household.

However, while this is going on- while the righteous enjoys his years of plenty- the wicked in that same city is busy working on himself, seeking the power with which to bring him (the righteous) down, with his mouth.

This righteous man has been taught how to navigate the financial terrain of the world. He has learnt how to survive and thrive during an economic meltdown. However, when the meltdown he faces is not courtesy of economic forces, but orchestrated by the mouth- the words- of the wicked, what is he to do?

This is the danger of having mental capacity, while lacking spiritual capacity.

The blessing of God has no sorrow attached. Yet the righteous goes down because of the evil wrought by the mouth of the wicked.

A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.

The power to retain the blessing is in spiritual capacity.

A praying woman cannot suffer dishonour.

When you discover that the love and honour that you enjoyed at the beginning of your marital journey is dwindling or no longer existent, it is a sign that your spiritual capacity is low.

A woman, who knows how to talk to heaven, has the capacity to hold and sustain the attention and respect of her husband.

When she has full capacity to perform in her marriage, she retains her grace and honour many years after.

When you walk with this understanding, you do not fight to be respected. You simply go back to the drawing board and ask: I started with honour. Where did it go?

In the same light, a praying man retains his riches.

Dwindling financial capacity is also a sign that spiritual capacity is missing.

This is the purpose of expanding your territory in Christ. You need mental and spiritual capacity to sustain the beauty, favour, glory, honour, riches that are yours in Christ.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • My soul, receive the full capacity of God’s fire.
  • My soul, receive the full capacity to perform fully.
  • My soul, receive the fully of God’s fire that cannot be swallowed.
  • Any power working secretly to overthrow me; I bring you down and destroy you by fire.
  • My grace, fire, strength, glory, honour, beauty, capacity; come back to me.
  • Any evil mouth speaking nonsense- limitation, frustration, failure- against me; I silence you by fire.
  • Whatever is said against me to dethrone me; backfire now.
  • My Father, let Your personality appear in my personality.

EXPANDING YOUR TERRITORY IN CHRIST:

EXPANSION IS GOD’S AGENDA (B)

REFERENCES: DEUTERONOMY 12:20, GENESIS 31:3-7, 22-30

Deut 12:20

When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.

The expansion of your territory in Christ is not wishful thinking; it is God’s agenda. He has promised it, and He will surely perform accordingly.

Note that the speaker says, when, not if. You do not have to wonder about it becoming your reality; simply fight to see its manifestation in your life now, as He has promised.

Gen 31: 3-7

And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

Note this: Jacob decision to move his family back to Bethel was by divine instruction.

God spoke to Jacob. It was at His command that Jacob took steps to return to the land of his fathers.

And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock, And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.

Jacob reveals something important to his wives here: that although their father is against him, God is with him.

This is the ultimate. It does not matter who is against you; only let the LORD be with you.

Opposition is inevitable. However, when God is with you, their raging against your expansion will be in vain, because they cannot stop God from fulfilling His promise to you.

And ye know that with all my power I have served your father. And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

Laban, Jacob’s uncle, had not only deceived him and cheated him of his rightful wages; he intended to kill Jacob.

So, Jacob had a God that had commanded him to move into his expansion, and a father in law/ uncle that desired to kill him.

Many Christians are likewise caught between the visions of divine blessings on one hand, and visions of death on the other.

Like Jacob, they have a God, who is with them and desires to bless and expand them. However, they also have a Laban, who is against them and desires to kill them because of their glorious destiny.

When you find yourself in this situation, make bold to declare that, ‘a man like me cannot die anyhow’ and your confidence is based on the presence of God in you.

The above revelation also explains Jacob’s decision to leave, as commanded by God, without informing his father in law.

Gen 31: 22-30

And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled. And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.

So, Jacob fled with his family.

When Laban caught wind of this, he pursued after him. He was a determined man, and he kept at it for 7 days and finally overtook him.

Brethren, what determined personality has doggedly pursued you, seeking after your life, even in Christ?

There are times when God will allow this.

He will permit your enemies to chase after you, because He wants to achieve something in your life.

God saw Laban. It was He who recorded his pursuit of Jacob. From the first day of his campaign to overtake Jacob, God was in the know.

However, He allowed him to continue for 7 days.

Jacob was unaware...

Like him, many of us are unaware of the amount time the enemy has dedicated to our pursuit. We can only guess when it began, based on the experiences we have had, but God can give such details as the exact onset, strategies and expectations of the pursuit.

In previous teachings, we learnt how sacrifices and rituals are made by wicked men for expansion. We also learnt that no operation is complete without the activation of the spoken word.

These works of great evil are first discovered through a process of deep digging, and then deployed through ritual acts and spoken words.

A man can only deploy the weapon he has discovered; and he only discovers what he has dug deep for.

The ritual killing of unborn children, or the ritual use of leaves and herbs by the wicked to their own advantage, at our expense; these do not automatically give the expected result. They must be set into operation by spoken words.

And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

But God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night and said to him, Be careful that you do not speak from good to bad to Jacob ... (AMP)

God waited to speak until the 7th day.

When Laban finally overtook Jacob, he was ready to take action against him. At this time, God showed Himself, and spoke.

God was not commanding Laban against speaking to Jacob; He was sternly warning him from speaking words that would turn the good in Jacob’s life to bad.

Many Christians struggle to achieve good in their lives, in spite of the divine call and promises they have received, because certain words were spoken into their lives, which turned the good in their hands to bad.

These are victims of certain ‘uncles’ in their households, whose evil abilities they were not fully aware of.

God was aware of what Laban was capable of. He knew he was a man who was so deep into evil, that he had it in his power to turn good to bad.

Therefore, He did not permit him to speak such evil words to His chosen. If Laban had spoken thus to Jacob, the blessing upon Jacob would have died!

This was the same principle at play when He forbade Balaam from cursing Israel.

It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

No man sees God, and not know that he has seen Him.

Laban knew he had seen God. Therefore, when he arose and finally spoke to Jacob, he had no choice but to reveal the encounter to his son in law.

He also revealed his true self to his son in law.

The sum of his words was ‘you do not seem to know who I really am; that I have power, power to hurt you. I have what it takes to turn every good thing in your hand to rubbish, but your God has forbidden me from doing so’.

Jacob had served this man for 21 years and endured deceit at different times. While he was under his service, Laban himself testified that he had been blessed because of Jacob.

Yet, he sought to kill him because God wanted to expand him!

This was not written for Jacob. It is written for us to learn. Do not live by assumptions. Be wise enough to understand that you might have personalities in your world, who seek to superimpose their own agenda over your life at the expense of God’s agenda for you.

And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father's house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?

Anyone that has gods has power to hurt.

Laban did not chase after his nephew with swords or spears.

His power to hurt-his weapon- was in his tongue. If he had not been reproved by God, whatever evil words he had spoken-backed up by the authority of satan in his mouth- would have negatively impacted Jacob’s life, turning his good efforts to bad.

If, like Jacob, the good that God has commanded you to do is being threatened by spells or curses, uttered by demon-backed tongues, do not despair any more.

Today, you have the opportunity to reverse every spell placed upon your life, turning your good to bad.

As long as the steps you have taken are according to God’s agenda, then every adversary must die for you.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • Sufficient fire of God, that cannot be hurt; possess my life heavily.
  • Any wicked power that has pursued me to Christ; I slay you by fire.
  • Any wicked power pursuing me and my children; I terminate you by fire.
  • My expansion is God’s agenda. Therefore, any evil agenda fighting to terminate God’s agenda for my life; I destroy you by fire.
  • Any spell, fighting God’s agenda for my life; I terminate you by fire.
  • Any spell, turning my good to bad; hear the judgement of the Lord. Be wasted by fire.

EXPANDING YOUR TERRITORY IN CHRIST:

EXPANSION IS GOD’S AGENDA

REFERENCES: DEUTERONOMY 33:20, JEREMIAH 49:1-2, AMOS: 1:13

Expansion- spiritual, marital, financial, ministerial, career-wise, and health-wise- is God’s agenda for His people.

Deut 33: 20

And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.

Gad needs someone to enlarge him.

The plan of God for every Christian is expansion, in every area of their lives.

However, He needs a man to help enlarge His people.

...Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad...

Blessed therefore is that man who enlarges the chosen of the LORD.

The servant of God who understands the business of heaven, especially this part of his divine assignment, and carries it out, will not have need for manipulation in order to make money.

He is blessed because he enlarges the people of God.

...he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.

This is the picture of the Gadarene in the tomb, who cut himself with stones and broke every chain he was bound with, while oppressed of devils.

However, when Jesus appeared to enlarge him, this same man went on to preach in ten cities. (Mk 5).

When Jesus passed through that land again, His fame had already spread throughout the Decapolis.

Today, I am sent to enlarge your life with God’s power, fire, fruitfulness, prosperity, sound health, promotions, greatness...

This is my assignment.

A question worth asking is: who is against his expansion? What is the force or conspiracy at work against the enlargement of God, as determined by God?

Now, Gad is a covenant child, born to Jacob.

Jer 49:1-2

Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

Observe that God did not wonder if Gad had no son; He asked if Jacob had none. His call was to the other sons of Jacob. God is saying ‘I expect someone from Jacob- an heir to the divine inheritance of the Covenant- to defend his brother, bring him out of the cage of limitation, and enlarge him’.

When a covenant child suffers from oppression and limitation, God’s expectation is that a son of the Kingdom- someone who has the capacity to lay claim to his Father’s inheritance- irrespective of race or tribe, will rise, defend and enlarge the afflicted one.

...why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

The land of Gad has been overrun and taken over by the Ammonites. The original owners and inhabitants of the land have been cast out of their possession, and there is no one from there to fight for his people and chase out the intruders and get back their land.

Well, if there is no son of Gad to deliver Gad from the invasion of the Ammonites, surely there must be another son of Jacob to do the job?

Concerning the Ammonites: this is what the LORD says: Has Israel no sons? Has Israel no heir? Why then has Molek taken possession of Gad? Why do his people live in its town? (NIV)

Molech, the idol of the Ammonites was the power that possessed the land of God’s people.

In the same way, many Christians have become victims of demonic possession in their households.

An idol claims ownership over their household, and takes possession of it.

Suddenly, certain areas of these peoples’ lives are possessed by devils, at the expense of the original owners.

Now, God is not going to come down and expel these demonic trespassers. Instead, He will connect you to a son of the Kingdom, who He has prepared to enlarge you.

Your responsibility, when you meet the son, is to understand the purpose for the connection.

This begs another question. How did they get to that land, and claim possession of it?

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.

While we ponder that question, consider the God’s solution to the problem of demonic invasion of your territory.

The man whom He has called will sound the trumpet and give an alarm of war against these devilish trespassers. They shall hear an alarm of war; and the war will not cease until all that is left of the invaders is desolation and destruction.

Prepare to strive in the place of prayer, for the sound of war is about to go forth...

Amos 1:13

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border

This is what the LORD says: for three sins of Ammon, even for four, I will not relent. Because he ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to extend his borders (NIV)

GOD’s Message: “Because of the three great sins of Ammon-make that four- I’m not putting up with her any longer. She ripped open pregnant women in Gilead to get more land for herself...” (MSG)

The LORD says, “ The people of Ammon have sinned again and again, and for this I will certainly punish them. In their wars for more territory they even ripped open pregnant women in Gilead...” (GNB)

These idols did not establish themselves in households without cause. Sacrifices and rituals were made to ensure their settlement and enlargement in your territory.

Stories abound of ritual acts involving the violent ripping of pregnant women in order to take out their unborn children and use these ones for ritual purposes. They do this to ensure the expansion of their territory, at the expense of others.

These idols demand sacrifices of their worshippers to enlarge their territory. The more rituals, sacrifices and offerings are provided, the more they expand. They penetrate lives, wombs, businesses, marriages, health of the household; and expand at the expense of their original owners.

When you struggle in a certain area of your life, and you observe that other members of the family keep insisting that you cannot make headway until you bow to what they bow to, it is a sign that there is devil in your territory.

When God commands a sacrifice of you, do the wise thing and obey.

Whenever you are tempted to consider it to be too much, remember that there are people offering heavier sacrifices to devils for their expansion.

The wrath of God is ready to fall upon these evil ones. God has raised a son to sound the alarm of war on your behalf. It is time for you to rise up and fight for your territory.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • Fire of God, take over my life.
  • Any sacrifice or ritual, done in my household, secretly taking over the territory of my life; I damage your power by fire now.
  • Any sacrifice or ritual, offered against my mind, to take what belongs to me; I damage your power over my life, soul, marriage...
  • Any sacrifice or ritual, done against me that takes what belongs to me from me; I crush you by fire.
  • Any sacrifice or ritual done, to hold me back, in order to hold me down; I damage and bury you by fire.
  • I receive back my portion.
  • Father, tell me whatever it is you want me to offer. I will obey You.

EXPANDING YOUR TERRITORY IN CHRIST:

SHOWCASING YOUR TERROR TO EXPAND YOUR TERRITORY IN CHRIST

REFERENCES: JOSHUA 2:9, JOB 33:7, ACTS 4:13-17; 21; 29, ROMANS 13:3-4

We have learnt that expanding your territory in Christ demands positive pressure; because without it, a vision will simply generate frustration.

Expanding your territory in Christ also demands that you showcase your terror.

Every Christian has a deposit of the terror of God in him.

Josh 2:9

And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.

These were the words of Rahab to the spies, testifying that her people were faint of heart because the terror of Israel had fallen upon them.

Brethren, the Lord has given you the blessing, and your enemies know this. However, for them to faint before you, your terror must fall upon them and make them afraid.

Job 33: 7

Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.

No matter how firebrand a Christian, his terror is not permitted to make a fellow Christian afraid.

Your terror is not a weapon against your fellow brethren. It will not make your brother or sister in Christ afraid.

However, your enemies do not have the luxury of this testimony.

To them, your terror is a source of fear, and subsequently destruction.

Also know that, whenever you pray, and the enemy appears to threaten you, it is simply a ploy to undermine your terror. They are only trying to make you believe that your terror did not make them afraid.

See my terror ...I shall not make you afraid, neither shall my pressure be heavy upon you. (AMP)

So, as you go with the pressure to see the manifestation of your vision, you must also go with the terror of the Almighty God. Then, when the wicked seek to terrify you with threats and attacks, they will encounter and be brought down by the force of God’s terror in you.

Rom 13: 3-4

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Every ruler is a terror.

This is a divine truth.

The fact that you are a worker in the House of God means that you are a terror. Showcase it.

You are not a mistake on the earth. You are called for great exploits; and to achieve these, you must display your terror against every opposition of your glorious manifestation.

Every terror bears a sword; the Word of God is your sword.

With this sword, you do good to all who do good. However, to every worker of evil, your sword must reveal your terror, and execute divine anger upon them.

Acts 4: 13-17, 21, 29

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves

Your positive pressure will put your enemies under negative pressure, and cause them to debate on what to do to stop you. They will hold conferences, seeking to work out a plan on what to do to you, to put you under negative pressure by doing something evil against you.

You have a divine advantage: while they have the capacity to hold their meetings in your absence, they cannot shut out the Holy Ghost. Therefore, even though they seek to keep you in the dark about their agenda, you have access, by the Holy Ghost, to their deliberations concerning you.

Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. But that it spread no further among the people

Their enemies saw evidence of the apostles’ good works, and all they thought of was how to stop them from expanding.

Doing good does not endear you to the wicked. That is why your terror must be shown, for only then will you be able to defend and sustain the good that you do.

They see the effect of your holiness, of your service to God, of your vibrant prayer life.

They see the growth of your business, the blessings in your marriage, the prosperity that attends all that you lay your hands on.

They seek to stop you from spreading.

But you MUST SPREAD.

...let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

Their means of stopping you is to terrify your terror. The nightmares that come after your intensive prayer sessions, the disappointments that seek to taunt your obedience to God; these are simply threatenings, to terrify your terror.

So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

The enemy is persistent in his mission. He does not just threaten, he threatens even further. It does not matter that they have no legal grounds- nothing how they might punish you. They will continue to seek ways of terrifying you out of your divine expansion.

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

You have a responsibility; you owe it to your destiny to be aware of the terror of God that you carry, and to beware of the conference going on to silence it, and therefore, silence you.

You must be ready to speak His Word. You must wield the sword in your mouth against the threats and execute divine judgement upon them.

Send forth your terror.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • Any meeting going on, to do something against my life, spouse, children, home, destiny; I command the agenda to backfire.
  • Any conspiracy of darkness to do me evil; backfire in sevenfold now.
  • Every threat of the wicked against my life, marriage, destiny; I terminate you by fire.
  • Every threat of the wicked to confine my life and destiny; to limit my progress and expansion; I damage and destroy you by fire.
  • Any power behind the threat against my life; your time is expired. I destroy you by fire.
  • Wicked powers blocking my way; scatter by fire now.
  • You forces of darkness standing on my way; I clear you off by fire.

CALLED TO CONQUER IN CHRIST:

OPERATING IN THE SUPERNATURAL LAW OF GOD (B)

REFERENCES:  ROMANS 1:3-4, COLOSSIANS 2:10-12, PHILIPPIANS 3:11-15, JOHN 20: 19, 26; JOHN 21:1-14

Whoever will conquer in Christ must operate in the supernatural law of God. David operated in this law when he picked up stones and declared to Goliath what his end would be.

A firm understanding of this principle will cause you to experience the personal deliverance to break free of every limiting mindset, and be empowered to do the unusual in your world. You will live a life that cannot be shut up by any devil.

You will also move from the realm of merely quoting the Scriptures, to the realm where you walk in the Scriptures and in the manifestation of the truths therein.

Rom 1: 3-4

Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

According to the flesh, Christ was made the seed of David, and while in the world, He answered to that name. When blind Bartimeaus called out to Him, He turned and healed him.

However, when He resurrected from the dead, He was declared to be the Son of God. By reason of His resurrection from the dead, His identify changed; His destiny was redefined.

No wonder the apostles could boldly declare that He was the Lord of David- His maker- and not his son. David did not resurrect but Jesus did.

As the Son of David, He would have seen corruption like David, but He did not, because He is the Son of God.

Col 2:10-12

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

During the process of being immersed in water for baptism, you do not die in the water, physically. Yet, by reason of going into the water in the name of the Lord, and rising out of it, you were buried, and are risen with Christ.

The baptism is your declaration that you died when He died, were buried when He was buried, and rose again when He resurrected.

Your presence here today is a testimony to your resurrection.

You need to understand this divine operation- that you came out of the water to live a life beyond limitation; to live a life that is beyond the reach of limiting forces, because, when He resurrected, no power could hold down, keep back or limit Christ.

Paul is teaching us that, by the operation of God, we died, and are risen with Christ. We only activated this when we went through baptism.

Phil 3:11-15

If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Consider this. The same Paul that reveals that we are complete in Christ and resurrected with Him, is now saying, ‘If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead’.

He was acknowledging that he was yet to get that place.

If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

This means that he was ready to do whatever it takes to get to the realm- the level, dimension, an atmosphere in God- called the resurrection of the dead.

In our part of the world, there have been stories of people confessing to killings because they were being chased and tormented by the spirit of their victims.

The question to ask is: if the dead persons were so powerful, why were they killed at all?

The answer: when a man dies and resurrects, all powers become subject to him.

The reason many Christians still live defeated and harassed lives is because, although they truly died, they are yet to resurrect from the dead.

Such a man lives in complete variance to his testimony of salvation because there are powers still raging against him, declaring to him that he will not enjoy all that accompanies salvation.

They can afflict and oppress him because he is yet to resurrect from the dead.

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Acknowledging that he had not yet attained the resurrection of the dead, Paul declares that he follows after- pursues that vision- for a purpose: in order to apprehend that- the reason- for which he was apprehended.

Brethren, the only way for you to lay hold of the fullness of your assignment- your destiny- is to get to the place of the resurrection of the dead.

It is at this place that you get to know God’s purpose for apprehending you, for frustrating you from the old way, and causing you to turn to His kingdom.

Only a Christian who has died to sin can seek to attain to the resurrection of the dead. Sadly, many people come to church, still carrying the baggage of their old life with them.

They expect God to carry them and their mess. They desire Him to work miracles in their lives while they hold on to the rubbish in them.

Such people are yet to die; meaning that resurrection is not on their radar.

When a Christian understands that Christ took hold of him for a reason, he will not rest until he understands the purpose and sees it fulfilment.

Every Christian should ask God: why did you save me? What exactly have you called me to see in You? Asking such questions will lead to the place of the resurrection of the dead-to the place where your past life no longer has the power to dominate, control or define you.

Only a man who knows that Christ has taken hold of him will seek to know the reason for his divine arrest, and fight to take hold of it as well.

TRPM can boldly charge you to take your lives and destinies seriously because we know why we were apprehended as a church. We were arrested to apprehend something.

You are brought here, not to make up the numbers, or fulfil social obligations; but to gain victory over every evil that has been bragging, boasting in your household and world.

You are arrested by Jesus to deal with them; and you are here to walk in the consciousness of that revelation, and work it out.

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded...

This is a clarion call to everyone who is destiny-minded; everyone who is serious about knowing and apprehending the purpose for their salvation.

Let your mind be set on getting to the place of the resurrection of the dead, so that, in that place, you may apprehend that for which Christ apprehended you.

Those who come to church to seek wealth, spouses, social standing, business connections, or to simply be identified with a place of worship cannot heed this call.

...and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

To as many of the perfect who have become otherwise minded- distracted from this call- may God reveal this to you now.

You do not need to die physically to get to the place where you become a terror to the wicked. You simply need to die spiritually, and resurrect in Christ. When you get to that place, every devil will flee before you.

Jn 20: 19, 26

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Jesus had resurrected from the death after 3 days; on the evening of the same day, He had gone to seek out His disciples.

The men He sought had shut themselves up. Their doors were shut for fear of being killed by the Jews.

These were men who cast out devils and witnessed the miracles wrought by Christ; yet they shut their doors out of fear of men.

Many Christians are likewise shut up, in their minds. They do not have the capacity to think productively because their mental ability has been limited.

So many destinies have been shut down because their minds have been shut in. They cannot do exploits until their minds are released.

Thankfully, shut doors were not a problem for Jesus- the Risen One.

When you get to the place of the resurrection of the dead, there are things that do not bother, scare or discourage you.

You definitely can no longer be kept out of your divine blessings by shut doors; they do not have the capacity to keep you out.

You do not have to wonder about prosperity because the lines simply fall for you in pleasant places;

Jesus did not bother knocking on any of the doors; He just walked through them and spoke peace to the troubled group. He even showed them the scars of His nailed hands; and they were glad.

And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

Now, one would expect that the gladness of their hearts meant they were ready to step out of hiding and resume their ministry work.

Sadly, this was not the case. 8 days later, the men who had been glad at His appearance and charge, were still locked up in that house!

Christ returned to the same scenario: His trained men were still shut up by fear. They had not bothered to go out.

And while this was going on, 8 days had been lost of His 40-day teaching schedule with them.

At this time, Jesus went back to pray.

You should not waste time complaining about the behaviour, attitude or failings of your spouse, children, colleagues, superiors or subordinates.

Understand that a mind that has been shut down will not respond as it should. It is a waste.

Christ could see that the minds of His disciples had been shut down; and nothing He said would matter. Not even their excitement at His resurrection could make them step out. He did not waste time complaining about their behaviour. He went to a place to pray.

Jn 21:1-14

After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself. There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples. Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

And Jesus returned, a third time. This time, 7 of the disciples were going fishing.

The leader of the pack was Peter.

After two powerful visitations from the risen Christ- beholding His walk through locked doors, seeing His scarred hands, and hearing His voice as He spoke peace, and sent them out- he was nowhere near his assignment.

He went a-fishing, and 6 other men went with him.

Many Christians are also far from their calling because they are paralysed by fear: of ancestral powers, and of men. They might not be physically locked up in a room with doors, but their minds are...

This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead. (14)

It took 3 attempts by Christ, each preceded by prayers, before He could get the minds of His disciples open to Him.

Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes. (5-8)

Consider this.

The same Peter that could not be bothered by the first two visitations of Christ was suddenly so excited to see the Master that he could not wait for the ship to get to shore. He jumped into the sea and swam ashore.

It was at this third time that their minds were open. They could see Him now; at the other times, something kept them from going after Christ the first two times.

He spoke to men that had walked with Him for 3 ½ years; but the fear of men shut up their minds and kept them shut in; from seeing Him.

Do not complain when men do not acknowledge your assignment, even in their lives. It is simple because the god of this world has blinded their minds, keeping them from acknowledging and hearkening unto you.

When a mind is shut down, destiny is shut down as well. Many are in destiny but they are not operating therein.

These men were resurrected men, but their minds were shut down.

This means that you must not only get to the place of the resurrection of the dead, you must also deal with any power fighting to shut in your minds against your destiny; or shut in the minds of men against you.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • Raw fire of God, possess my mind to function at full capacity.
  • Every attack of the wicked to shut down my mind in my destiny; I scatter and destroy your power by fire.
  • Any power that has vowed to shut down my mind in destiny; I scatter and destroy you by fire.
  • Every attack of the wicked to shut down the minds of people against me; I destroy you by fire.
  • Any power attacking the minds of people against my destiny; I crush you by fire.
  • Every door shut against me; open by fire now.

EXPANDING YOUR TERRITORY IN CHRIST:

EXPANSION DEMANDS PRESSURE

REFERENCES: II KINGS 6:1-7, II CORINTHIANS 11:28; 32-33, II CORINTHIANS 1:8

Expansion demands pressure.

Nothing expands until pressure is applied to it.

It is the same for the things of the spirit. Expanding your territory in Christ will only become a reality when you apply the right kind, and amount of pressure.

And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait [small] for us.

Expansion begins when you acknowledge that your present level is too small. Consider now, that the place you are is too small. This could be your spiritual capacity, business, marriage, current accommodation, career situation or financial status.

The company of the prophets said to Elisha, “Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us. Let us go the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us to meet.” And he said, “Go.” (NIV)

This aptly describes the process of expansion in the house of God. The prophets said to Elisha, ‘see, the place where we meet with you- the church- has become too small. It’s time to expand.’

The journey of TRPM follows this pattern. From small beginnings, we have expanded gradually but surely to this present point; and the journey continues.

Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.

There must be a place to get the necessary resources for expansion. The prophets knew where to go for the materials needed to expand. It however takes pressure to locate this place.

It is noteworthy that every pressure is for a purpose. It could be positive- to push you into expansion, or negative- to arrest you, and keep you from expanding.

And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.

It is not enough for the congregation to yield to the pressure for expansion. The leader- the pastor- must not be left behind as well.

Be content...and go with thy servants. They realised that it was in the best interest of everyone that the pastor expand as well. When a congregation outgrows its leader, in spiritual and mental capacity, there is trouble in the horizon. The Church must expand together.

So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water...

The axe head fell because of a different kind of pressure- the negative kind.

Whenever you yield to positive pressure to expand, you must be aware that negative pressure will be mounted against you; to frustrate your expansion and disgrace you.

...and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.

Now, the axe this particular prophet used was borrowed. The vision he caught moved him to take up a loan for the assignment.

As you work to expand your territory, you must also be ready to do the same. That might demand taking up a loan to expand your business.

As you do so, beware of the pressure to embarrass you. Your axe must not fall.

In the process of expanding the house of God, many people went above and beyond for the cause. Like this prophet, they were not working to build their own houses. Yet, they did all that was within their power, and more, to ensure the building of the house.

And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim. Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.

The man of God also had an axe. Using his, he cut a stick, threw it into the river and the axe head floated.

When it did, the man of God did not pick it up; instead, he called the affected prophet to take up his portion.

Thus, he frustrated the negative pressure against the prophet and caused him to recover his portion.

II Cor 11:28

Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. (NIV)

Every man that takes up responsibility over his marriage, family and business will receive the capacity to fulfil destiny.

A man who has concern for the situation of things around him, who cares to see expansion happen in his world will be empowered for the assignment.

And besides those things that are without, there is the daily [inescapable pressure] of my care and anxiety for all the churches! (AMP)

This pressure is inescapable. The care for the growth, transformation, and expansion of the lives of those in your world will keep you on your toes, continually working to make things better than they are.

This is true in every area of life. The man who is empowered for expansion is the man that has taken on positive pressure.

The man who wastes time- watching TV, fiddling with phones, surfing the net- is not under positive pressure. He wastes time watching the news rather than making the news.

Are you under inescapable pressure, daily, to care for the future greatness of your spouse, children, business and ministry?

Be like Paul, who put himself under pressure, labouring more that the other apostles. Labour more, in prayer, in the Word, in work. Put your brain under pressure because it can perform more effectively.

A man can also be under negative pressure.

When you are drawn to error, or are not bothered by the state of stagnation, limitation and mediocrity around you, you are under negative pressure.

Conquer this pressure.

Positive pressure is used by God to push you into greatness, expansion. He pushes you to pray, fast, study, and work harder because He is leading you higher.

When a man is under this kind of pressure, he cannot be distracted. His dedication is an offspring of the pressure, and he will not be drawn away from the work of expansion by anyone or anything.

II Cor 1:8

For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. (NIV)

When you are under positive pressure, be aware that the devil will also raise negative pressure to stop you; and it will not be applied mildly.

Paul confesses that the pressure to stop them was so great, that they despaired of life itself.

When a man stands- to seek the Lord and cause an expansion- the devil will mount great pressure on you.

II Cor 11:32-33

In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me: And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.

In Damascus, the city governor acting under King Aretas guarded the city of Damascus [on purpose] to arrest me (AMP)

Brethren, there is a purpose for every pressure.

Positive pressure is designed and applied to push you to grow and expand. It pushes you to seek God, to work on yourself, to train your brain mind and body for the new level.

Negative pressure is meant to stop your development. A careless, nonchalant attitude is a product of negative pressure. When a man thinks there is nothing more to pray, study, work, train and fight for, it is a sign that he is under negative pressure.

It takes pressure to move or stop a car. When you accelerate, you push pressure on the engine and cause it to move; when you press on the brakes, the pressure you apply is to cause the car to stop.

It takes pressure to make progress; it also takes pressure to arrest progress.

Do not ever be content with what you know, where you are, or what you have. Your life is more that it is right now. It is time to expand. Receive positive pressure, frustrate negative pressure, and make progress.

PRAYER POINTS

In the name of Jesus,

  • I charge my life to receive positive pressure for expansion and progress in destiny.
  • Any negative pressure against my progress; I subdue and destroy you by fire.
  • Any negative pressure, from anywhere, to mess up my progress; I subdue and destroy you by fire.
  • Ancestral, foundational, territorial, witchcraft pressure to damage my destiny; I conquer and destroy you by fire.
  • Any negative pressure, wasting the time of my life, messing up my future years; I destroy you by fire now.
  • Any pressure that wants me to stop where my parents stopped; I subdue and destroy you by fire now.
