In the first part of the teaching, we learnt the importance of discerning the voice behind the word that we hear.

The devil tried to use the word of God against Jesus, and failed, because Christ knew it was not the voice of God.

David also almost subdued the Holy Spirit when he almost killed Saul at the nudging of his men. Why? He heard the word of God, but the voice was not God’s.

The devil knows the Word, and he will use it to deceive. However, he does not have the Voice. Therefore, it is important to look for, to discern the voice of God, and ruthlessly deal with any evil voice using the word of God against our lives.

Your discernment in the spirit is a function of the Word you have.

The Holy Ghost uses the Holy Scriptures. He does not have any word outside the Word of God. (Any ‘ghost’ leading you to live contrary to the Word is a ‘dirty ghost’.)

However, His ability to operate is determined by the depth of the Word in the Christian’s life.

There are levels of the Word: the milk, meat, and strong meat. Each level indicates the depth of revelation the Christian operates in, and his level of discernment.

The deeper your revelation of the Word is, the higher your level of discernment will be.

David, for instance, was saved because he gave heed to the higher Word that sprang up in his heart.

Remember that it those who do business in the deep that see the wonders of God.

Heb 4:12-13

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The word of God is the discerner.

There can be no discernment without the discerner. If the discerner in you is shallow, then your discernment will be weak; when you operate in the deep place of the Word, you will have strong discernment.

A Christian will struggle to understand and follow the leading of the Spirit when his revelation of the Word is shallow.

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

All things are revealed before God, and He desires to reveal them to His Church. However, we have a responsibility to go deeper in the Word in order to be able to discern His language and messages.

Jn 16:13-15

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The Holy Ghost does not speak of himself. Therefore, whatever ‘ghost’ speaks to you outside of the Word is a counterfeit ‘ghost’.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The Holy Ghost receives the Word from Jesus- the Word- and reveals it to you. Whenever He wants to reveal something to you, He does so by showing you the Word.

False prophets and evil spirits have misdirected many by claiming to speak by, or to be the Holy Ghost. Yet, their words do not proceed from the Holy Scripture.

Be wise to discard whatever anyone shows or says to you, outside of the Word.

Part of being a son indeed is discerning the voice of the Spirit in every area, even when it is hard-hitting and inconvenient. For instance, how can you claim to be a son or daughter, and you do not bless your spiritual father with your substance?

Matt 16:1-3

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

Anyone who boasts of intellect but lacks the power of God is a hypocrite. If you can speak English, but lack the power of God, you are a hypocrite.

Teachers of the Law, pastors- in- charge; men of intellect...They were able to forecast the weather, but could not discern the sign of the times.

They could not discern the signs of the times, because it is spiritual. They could not discern the times because the level of the discerner- the Word- in them was shallow.

The things of the spirit can only be discerned by a spiritual man.

When people claim that they do not to hear from God, it is because they have taken up the responsibility to go deeper in the Word.

There can be no discernment without the discerner.

The depth of the discerner determines the level of discernment.

A highly discerning man will know the signs of the times.

The devil knows this truth and is fighting to spoil the times of men.

As you dig deeper into the Word and rise higher in discernment, you must also fight to destroy every power spoiling the times of your life.

Ps 31:14-15

But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

Brethren, you need the Word to know the signs of each time: the time to fast, the time to mourn; the time for elevation, to get the power of God, to give offerings, to be quiet.

How can the Holy Ghost convict you of time wasting, how can He reveal the plan of the enemy to spoil your times through indiscipline, distractions and frivolous activities, if you do not have the Word?

You can only cry to God for deliverance in the time of wrath- when the enemy bombards you in hateful anger with the intention of wasting your life- when you have His word.

In the name of Jesus,

  • Father, I hand over my times to You.
  • I submit my life to the Holy Ghost.
  • Holy Ghost, possess the totality of my life.
  • You candidate of the devil spoiling my times; I destroy you by fire.
  • Any power, judgement, or curse spoiling my times; I damage your power over by fire.
  • Any evil judgement in my foundation that spoils my times; I bury your power.

Whoever desires to fly in the realm of the spirit, and in every area of life must be ready to deny himself in order to see the manifestation of his desires.

Pro 15:4

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

The tongue that carries the power of God; that brings healing...When a Christian speaks or prays, and gets result, it means that his tongue has become a tree of life.

This is because of the fellowship that exists between the person’s tongue and the Spirit of God. It is this unity between the Spirit and the tongue that gives power and makes the tongue a tree of life.

Perverseness in the tongue causes a breach- disunity- between the speaker and the Spirit. When the Holy Spirit is subdued- through disobedience, sin...He moves away.

At that point, the words that proceed from the tongue lose the power they once had. The person will discover that the words he speaks do not carry power anymore.

Jeremiah was called to be great from his mother’s womb...

Jer 15: 15-19

O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.

This is a man who knows the Word and is called by the name of the Lord. Yet, he suffers persecutions.

In the midst of the bombardment, he cries to God for help, asking Him to remember him. He is saying ‘I know you are longsuffering; but do not wait too long to rescue and avenge me’

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

Jeremiah knew the Word- it was the joy of his heart; and he lived a holy life. Yet he suffered attacks.

However, contrary to Jeremiah’s belief, God did not fill him with wrath. He did not know that what he suffered was the bombardment of angry spirits.

There are angry spirits, from foundations and households who show their hatred by constantly attacking you, thus filling you with their wrath.

Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed?

Brethren, your pain is perpetual, and your wound incurable, because the source is an angry power. They did not come from God.

Whenever an angry power is against you, it is with the intent to wound you.

...wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail?

Jeremiah is so offended that he questions God’s truthfulness and faithfulness. ‘Have you become like one of those who lie to me, or will You also fail me?’ he asks.

This is the enemy’s plan.

The constant harassment and bombardment is to create a wound so deep and incurable, that it causes you to speak vile and blasphemous words against God.

Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me:

No one returns to a place he has not walked away from.

This is God’s reply: ‘Jeremiah, you speak as you do because you have gone away from Me. Come back to Me.’

...and if thou take forth the precious from the vile

In Proverbs, we learn that, when perverseness is found in a wholesome tongue, it causes a breach.

Jeremiah’s tongue was wholesome, but the enemy found a way to inject perverseness into it. This was the cause of the separation between him and God.

So, the precious was tainted by the vile ...

In returning to God, Jeremiah must cast the vile, worthless words out of his mouth.

... thou shalt be as my mouth:

The devil is angry that you are the mouth of God. This is the cause of his hatred. The bombardments, the pain, and the wounds are his way of pushing you to misfire in words, thus frustrating the work of the Spirit in and through your mouth.

Eph 4: 1- 4

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Brethren, you are called by God to put an end to oppression in your household and generation. What you hate is a pointer to your calling. The responsibility to walk worthy of your calling rests on you. You must follow the principles that bring the desire of your calling...

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace...

You must also strive, do all that is within you to keep the unity- the fellowship- between you and the Holy Spirit going strong.

When you sense troubling or unrest in your soul, be wise; keep quiet and do not move.

For instance, there will be times when you are sore tempted to speak or act in anger, but the Holy Spirit commands that you hold your peace. Even at the risk of breaking down in tears, you must obey.

To do otherwise is to cause a separation between you and the Spirit.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling...

The calling is for a purpose: it is in the hope that you will become one with the Holy Ghost. It is so that you become the visible body through whom the invisible Spirit operates.

This hope becomes a reality as you pay the price of the denial...

This is the crux of the matter.

When the enemy discovers that you have a great assignment to destroy the works of darkness in your household and generation, and that your words are doing damage to him, he investigates. Seeing that the Spirit in you is the source of your power, his mission will simply be to cause a breach between you and the Spirit.

In the name of Jesus,

  • My Father, wherever I have misfired, I am sorry. Forgive me.

  • My Father, whatever I have said contrary to my destiny; in whatever way I have conquered You, please forgive me.

  • Raw fire of God, possess me like a garment.

  • Every angry power that has vowed to wound me, physically, emotionally, mentally, financially, and in marriage... I destroy you by fire.

  • Every angry power, from anywhere, that has vowed to wound my marriage, body, children, spouse, finances, business, career, ministry... I destroy you by fire.

  • Every angry power that has vowed to wound me in order to cause me to speak perverseness; I slay you by fire.

  • Every magical power that has vowed to conquer me, I destroy you by fire.

In Christ, you must say ‘no’ to some things in order to bring your true desire to reality...

Matt 16: 24

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

This message is not for everyone.

It is for those who are hungry for the display of the raw power of God; who desire to walk with their heads raised high.

This is a clarion call to these special people.

You have to deny yourself.

Your attachment to food, TV, alcohol, sleep and other carnal pleasures must be broken if you must achieve greatness in Christ.

Acts 3: 13-15

The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

Whenever a man denies the counsel of the Lord, he is indirectly saying ‘yes’ to the devil.

The moment the people denied Christ, they made their choice clear. They revealed their desire for a murderer.

Consider this: they denied Love, and said ‘yes’ to a murderer. The same is still true today. When a man loves alcohol, engages in immorality, struggles in the place of prayer but spends hours watching TV, is controlled by his appetites and disobeys the voice of the Holy Spirit, he is saying ‘yes’ to a murderer.

And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

This is how people subdue the Holy Ghost. When a Christian consistently pushes aside the voice of the Holy Ghost, the voice will die.

There are many voices in the world. So, when a man denies the voice of the Lord, he will hear a familiar voice- of   demons or of dead spirits.

Isa 58: 11-14

And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

This is the divine judgement and covenant of God upon my life and ministry. He has declared that he will satisfy my soul. At a time when others complain of a drought of the Word, this ministry has never suffered a drought of His word or power. Fatness, suppleness, unfailing abundance – of His Word and power; these are our testimony.

And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations;

This is the vision. God will direct me, He will feed me and will not allow me to run dry.

This is the purpose for the feeding. It is so that I can in turn feed you, and send you out, to build the old waste places in your households.

He teaches me to teach you. He produced me to reproduce you.

This is not a place to practise religion and occupy seats. Anyone God has brought to be a part of this commission must run with this vision.

It is your duty to raise a new foundation; a solid foundation that unborn generations can lean on, and build on.

Receive power to build!

and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

God has called you to repair everything  that has been damaged in your household. Take time to study; observe your household, including the family you married into. What is wrong there? What evil pattern holds sway over their lives? What is the missing thing?

I have come to live a life that testifies of God’s original plan for His people. Therefore, everyday is an investment.

No one commissions an uncertified engineer to repair a failing structure. You expect the man for the job to have trained for the job. You have been called and trained as an engineer to repair all that is broken and damaged. Do not waste your time; focus on your assignment and work at it until the job is done.

What is more, you have a job to restore the people to the right way to go. Many people are waiting for you to show them the way to live and the path to walk.

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

This vision is dependent on certain conditions.

You must not do your pleasure on God’s holy day. His day is not for you to observe traditions or follow contemporary trends.  His day is not for you to seek personal gratification.

Turn your foot away from His holy day. Do not come to His presence to hear what you desire to hear. Seek only His word, His will, His pleasure.

Come into His presence with the joyful expectation that He will speak to you. Be ready to dishonour yourself to honour His day. Do not seek your way, your pleasure, your words...

Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD;

Any Christian who walks in this truth cannot experience sorrow. When you live a life that pleases God, He will please you. Your joy will be full in Him.

and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

As you seek to know His will, He will show the path to dwell. He will lead you to the high places of the earth. Those who ride in the low places are susceptible to the attacks, torment of the wicked.

When you ride in the high places, you are above principalities and powers. You have access to the best of the earth.

This will be your testimony when you refuse to do your own pleasure; when you have denied yourself.

You must also destroy every power causing you to ride in the low places of the earth.

In the name of Jesus,

  • Holy Ghost, please speak to me again.

  • Power to ride in the high places of the earth; enter my life.

  • My life, receive power to say ‘no’ to whatever is against my destiny.

  • My life, receive the fire to repair my household.

  • Any murderer attached to my life; I cast out now by fire.

  • Any power wasting destiny in my household, I come against you. I destroy you by fire.

  • Every work of darkness that makes me dwell low places of the earth; I damage and destroy your power by fire.

  • Any power, judgement from my household, keeping me in the low places of the earth; I damage and destroy you by fire.

  • Every internal bondage, holding my soul captive; break and scatter now.

  • Every attack of the wicked to scatter my life; I destroy you by fire.

REFERENCES: JOHN 21:18-19, I KINGS 11: 1-8

If you consider yourself as old before God, you become a child in His eyes. However, when you see yourself as a child before Him, you become old in His eyes.

This is where the distinction between being childlike (trusting God completely), and being childish (immature, self absorbed, self- conceited, seeking one’s own way) is evident. The man who sees himself as old enough to go his own way is seen as childish before God. The man who sees himself as a child and yields to the way of God in all things- he is old indeed.

Sustaining the child in the new man therefore is a sign of truly growing in the Spirit. The more you submit to His way, like a trusting child, the higher you go in Him. This is why young David was a man after [God’s] heart, while Grandfather Saul regressed and became too immature to remain the head.

Jn 21:18-19

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdest thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldst not.

The childish Christian wants to do, eat, say, watch and wear whatever he wants, whenever he wants. He judges that it is his life and therefore his choice. He does not see the need to be led or corrected by the Holy Ghost, or to heed His promptings, because he sees himself as old enough to live his life as he sees fit. Well, in God’s eyes, that man is a babe.

The man who is truly old will become a child before God. An old person readily stretches forth his hands to be guided, and even carried. Have you ever observed an old man or woman being helped by a younger person? In a manner, he has become a child.

A man who walks in understanding of this principle will never live outside of God’s will. All that happens to him will be to the glory of God.

Another...this speaks of the Holy Ghost; as it is written,  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter...and he will guide you. (Jn 14:16; 16:13)

When you are old, you will not struggle with the Holy Ghost. Rather, you will stretch forth your hands and He will guide you, leading you, and equipping you with the truth you need to successfully manage your life, marriage, career, business and carry you all the way.

Oh, that the Church of God would stretch forth her hands to be carried by Holy Ghost! Then, men would witness the move of His power in the lives of His people. Christians would enjoy the blessings that proceed from His constant presence and unequalled wisdom in every area of their lives.

This spake he, signifying by what death he [Peter] should glorify God...and when he hath spoken this, he saith unto Peter, follow me...

When you follow the Holy Ghost, even your death will be to His glory. The flip side is that, refusing His leading may lead to one’s death, and an un-glorified one at that.

When He gives you a command; for instance, to leave- a person, place, association- be wise to obey and follow Him. Then it can be said that you were honourable in His sight, and deserving of deliverance in the day of wrath.

I Kngs 11:1-8

But King Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites. Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not prefect with the LORD his God as was the heart of David his father. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites...

These women were daughters of the nations God had warned Israel about, in very clear terms. Yet, Solomon, the wisest man and king of God’s own people cleaved to these women- one thousand of them!

...Solomon was old.

This does not refer to him as being stricken with age. Considering the time of his birth (he was born a considerable time into David’s reign), he was no older than David when he began to rule.

Solomon became old, not as one with grey hair, but because he saw himself as such. He decided that he was a man enough to do as he pleased, and did not need to heed God’s charge- to walk before Him like David.

There are Christians who started well, but became old and followed the wrong crowd. They have stretched out their hands and allowed strangers to lead them away.

Thankfully, the prayer of David, and the continual offerings of prayer by the priests brought him back. When he did come back to himself, he wrote Ecclesiastes.

Sadly however, he had lost a good part of his life and frustrated God’s original plan for his lineage.

Every moment outside the cover of the Holy Ghost is a moment wasted, sometimes with life altering consequences that will be felt by generations to come.

Do not become old in your own eyes. Be vigilant to cast out every stranger on a mission to lead you away from your God and your destiny.

In the name of Jesus,

  • My Father, I submit my life to You.

  • Holy Ghost, possess me again.

  • Fire of God, take over my life completely.

  • Any stranger that has entered my life, to misdirect my destiny; your end is now. I cast you out of my life.

  • Any stranger that has entered my spouse, my marriage; to misdirect the destiny of my marriage. I cast you out by fire.

  • Any stranger I have entered into; I call my life out of you.

As we begin this new theme, we need to understand what it means to subdue the Holy Ghost.

Subdue- to suppress, prevail over, conquer, defeat. When such words are used to refer to a person’s relationship with the Holy Ghost, then there is cause for alarm. For emphasis, the theme includes ‘in Christ’. There can be no relationship, nay fellowship, with the Holy Spirit outside of Christ. Remember that the words of faith you heard, by which you were saved, are spirit and life (Jn 6:63). (Note that Christ said spirit, not spirits). The Spirit comes before, and activates life in the Word of God. Without His work, the words would not stir up life in you. Small wonder then that the Bible charges us: Quench not the Spirit (I Thess 5:19)

When you disobey Him by seeking to do things our own way, you are informing Him of your decision to be lord and master over your own life. Now, we have learnt that the source of a thing sustains it. To subdue Him therefore means to frustrate His sustaining power in your life. Such thinking shows a lack of understanding; it reveals that the Christian does not know the authority he has in the Holy Ghost.

I Pet 2:2

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby

The word of God is called sincere because it will not deceive. You are as the Word reveals you to be; it does not regard titles, positions, perceptions or appearances in its judgement.

To desire this Word therefore means to receive it and amend accordingly. To do otherwise is to subdue the Holy Ghost.

Every child of God matures in Christ, but remains a child before his Father. He becomes old when he walks out of alignment with God. Moses did not grow old until he failed to sanctify God before the people. It was then that he referred to himself as old (Deut 31:2)

God expects us to look up to Him as suckling babes do; with trusting and expectant hearts.

There is a difference between being child-like and being childish.

A Christian must retain a child-like trust, mindset and attitude in his walk with God. A child will believe even the most seemingly outrageous idea or instruction, especially when it comes from someone he trusts. Unfortunately, many have allowed education kill the child in them. The obsession with logic, reason and philosophical postulations has made old men of many Christians.

Matt 18:1-5

At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom heaven.

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

And whoso shall receive on such little child in my name receiveth me.

The journey of transformation Christ prescribes is in stages: repentance, conversion, and becoming.

Salvation begins with repentance, but it does not stop there. There must also be a conversion- a turning away from the old life, towards the way of Christ. The man who repents and is converted must then become. He must submit to the process of being made as a child.

Many Christians repent but remain in their old ways, and many yet do not become as little children.

Judge yourself: if you still live as you did while you were a sinner; if your time is still spent on the carnal pursuits that occupied your old life, then you need to be converted.

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom heaven.

This means that a Christian may see the kingdom of God and not enter into it!

Brethren, it is possible to be come to a place of God’s power, but not partake of it. Without these three-ALL THREE-a Christian lacks the access pass to enter into that realm of power, fire and authority. Such Christians can talk about the power of God, but do not experience it. The bible says they profess to be godly, but deny the power thereof (I Tim 2:5).

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Absolute trust is a major sign of child-likeness, and humility is a product of that absolute trust in God.

It takes the child in you to humbly follow God, even when it does not appear to be in your favour. Many Christians seek to see the nail print (Jn 20:25) before they believe and follow Him, forgetting that to subdue holy Ghost is to lack access to His power.

The man who walks in humility is the one who has become a child before the Father, and the same- whether he be a pastor, church worker or member; whether he be educated or not; whether he heads and organisation or simply mans the gate- shall enter into the kingdom of God on earth, and be the greatest therein.

And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

A pastor can only be a blessing to you if the child in him is still sustained. To receive such a man is to receive God, and you will do well not to take him for granted.

Lack of understanding, and of humility will make a man lose the blessings of such fellowship. Many have despised such to their hurt, because they saw his younger age, lower educational status, or even his financial situation, thus failing to see the God in him.

I Sam 15:17-21

And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?

God knows when a man becomes a child. Anyone who comes to the presence of God and becomes as a little child before Him, catches His attention. There is a record in heaven of that day.

Here, we see that Saul was made. In the New Testament, Christ says to His disciples: follow me and I will make you (Mk 1:17)

How then is a man made? A man is made by God, when he repents, is converted and becomes like a little child.

When a man demands superiority based on position or status, it is a sign that he is still an old man. He will continue to struggle to get the respect he demands until he learns to become a child before God.

Saul was made the head of Israel because he became a little child. Now, since it is the head that is anointed, it was no contest that he- the head- was anointed. So, becoming a child before God not only makes you the head, it also makes you a candidate for God’s anointing. In contrast, a man who fancies himself as the head will be shocked to see his wisdom become folly, while his subordinate becomes the vessel of wisdom.

And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinner the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.

The repented and converted man, who becomes a little child before God, is made by the Word. Then he is anointed, because no one can go far without the anointing. The making of a man by the Word will change him. His language will change and he will become a useful vessel in God’s hand. At that moment, God will anoint him. Then, all he needs is to hear God say ‘Go’. Whatever he goes on to do is a guaranteed success. Anointing, like everything else God gives, is not a prodigal gift. The child is made the head and anointed for a purpose.  The disciples received power to preach. Saul was anointed to go and utterly destroy Amalekites.

Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?

Brethren, whatever conquers a man will subdue him. Saul started well, but missed it when he deviated from the original brief. The moment he decided that his way and the will of the people mattered more than the Word of God, he subdued the Holy Ghost.

And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.

This is the sad reality of many who begin with God. He anoints them and sends them. Sadly, many become taken in by money, connections, and the voice of men. They decide that a little adjustment will not hurt anyone, and the Spirit is subdued. Even their language will show that their allegiance has changed. Did you notice Saul said sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.

Humble yourself before God; give control to the Holy Ghost, and the sky cannot limit you.

In the name of Jesus,

  • Holy Ghost, I submit my life to You.

  • Father, I humble myself before You.

  • You evil voice fighting to silence the voice of God in my life; I silence you by fire.
